2008 is going to be great!

Well the end of a year has approached and it has been great! This year was filled with so many great memories with some pretty amazing people. I hope this new year will be filled with lots more! Tonight we are bringing in the New Year at the Hartwell Gold Course. I am a little under the weather right now so I am hoping I feel better soon. So everyone stay safe and have fun!
We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day.

Thank you Santa

I some how forgot to mention what I actually got for Christmas! Nick got me this huge jewelry box that I needed desperately. I actually have several drawers with nothing in them (amazing- guess I need to go shopping!). He also got me Hairspray on DVD b\c he knew how much I loved it. From my parents I got a coat, sweater, necklaces, ornament, and still looking for a pair of boots. The in-laws got me a cool clock, picture frame, Sweefer (sp.?) vacuum and Eric got me a X-box 360 Scene It game ( I see game night in the future!). I am so blessed to have amazing parents and in-laws. Yesterday I went to Wal-mart to look at discounted Christmas decorations. I didn't find too much, but I did find a cute card holder, wreath, small tree skirt, and cloth napkins and they were all 50% off! Have a look at the pictures!

It's Over!

Ok so don't call me a scrooge yet. I love Christmas and it is my absolute favorite holiday, but it can get very hectic. There is so many gifts to buy, wrap, decorating, visiting, eating way too much, and it never seems to end. I enjoyed every moment, but I am ready for some peace and quiet! So with that said I am now in New Year's mode. I am making a year in review slide show for our New Year's Eve party. I have tons of pictures from every event that has occurred this year. I am getting close to being finished. I think it will be great to save a look back on years from now. I am also beginning to think about New Year's resolutions. There are always ways to improve yourself and I already have several on the list.
1) Continue with working out and lose those last 10 lbs.
2) Join a church and attend regularly
3) Start scrap booking again
4) Read lots of good books
5) Spend more time with family
6) Get more organized
7) And last but not least- Start a family of my own!

I encourage everyone to make their own list and stick to it because this new year could be the best yet!

Anyway tomorrow I plan on mailing my Christmas cards that I picked up today. I also am going to finally wrap Nick's gifts and he is going to have a surprise under the tree!! Anyway I will post tomorrow. Right now I am going to celebrate my vaca!

It is beginning to look a lot like...SUMMER!

Is it just me or is this weather CRAZY! It is the middle of December and 78 degrees. Not that I can complain, but I would like snow one day and with this weather that is never going to happen.

Anyway I am almost finished with Christmas gifts and I am so glad. I want to relax and enjoy Christmas without the crazy shopping. Other than shopping I am at a stand still with losing weight. I have not been able to workout everyday like I should and with holiday parties and food it is so hard. I am determined to lose 10 more pounds and I am hoping that during my Christmas break I will be able to. I will keep you posted because I am sure you on the edge of your seats ;). With that said I am off to workout!

It's FRIDAY!!!

Ok so it is finally Friday! This has been the longest week ever! I am excited to go to La Cabana and see my AMAZING friends. It seems like forever since I have seen them and really it hasn't. That is how much I love them!! I just finished preparing a French bread casserole fore Julie's baby shower tomorrow. I made two and I was shocked that it required 16 eggs. Crazy I know, but the recipe is from Paula Deen. It also had lots of butter and half and half. Defiantly very fattening and yummy I am sure. Well off to enjoy my weekend! Hope you do the same.

Christmas Tree

Nick and I put up our Christmas tree Sunday afternoon. We had so much fun and the tree looks just like I wanted. I used green, red, and gold with rustic and traditional accents. I think this is the best tree yet. I will be posting pictures of other Christmas decor later. I am kinda slow at this!

Turkey, shopping, and family oh my!

What a busy couple of days!! It has been a whirlwind of eating, cooking, seeing family and friends, and of course shopping. I will not bore you with the details, but let's just say I am tired and ready for a quiet day.

Today we do have some things on the to-do list. As soon as I get ready we are going to Anderson to pick a few things up at Sam's, buy one or two gifts, and look at the Wood You store for tables. I love the Wood You store because the furniture is unfinished and that way we can do anything we want to it. Why did I not think of it earlier? Then when we get back the fall decorations are going away and the Christmas ones are coming out. On black Friday I found some of the cutest ornaments, tree topper, and outside pre-lit tree ever! Of course they were all on sale so that helped with how excited I was.

Also I just wanted to take a minute to thank Nick for cooking an amazing dinner Friday night. It was absolutely to die for. Butternut squash with goat cheese and hazelnuts is my new favorite! I also want to thank amazing friends who joined us in giving thanks. You are all the BEST! Well off to enjoy my last day of work freedom.

One last note: Instead of a list of grateful things I am now going to post a quote. ENJOY!

"Thanksgiving Day is a jewel, to set in the hearts of honest men; but be careful that you do not take the day, and leave out the gratitude." ~E.P. Powell

Giving Thanks

I have very much enjoyed writing what I am thankful for at the end of my posts. Today will be my last day. Even though I have loved it, I do believe it is time to think of something new to do. When ever I think of something I will let you know! :) Writing down my gratitudes has made me realize, even in the worst of times, there is always something to be grateful for. During this time of thanks I have realized I should NEVER complain. I have everything I need to live comfortably, an amazing family, friends that constantly give me great enjoyment, and a husband that I could go on and on about. So during this holiday season remember how lucky you really are!!

On another note I am sooooo thankful to have the next three days off! Even though they will be filled with cleaning, cooking, and shopping they will be enjoyed nonetheless. Today will be lots and lots of cleaning and grocery shopping. Thanks to everyone coming to our little Thanksgiving dinner Friday night!!

Shopping- not so good!

Well the shopping adventure did not go as planned. First off I started feeling car sick on the way and after eating I felt a little better. So we went to Garden Ridge to look for Christmas decorations with absolutely no luck. There were so many people it was hard to look at anything. Then we went to Pier One and had no luck with the tables. At the mall I tried on one dress and did not like it so I gave up. Then we decided to go to Wal-mart where I actually found all my Christmas ornaments. Good ole Wal-Mart! Then we ate supper at Flat Rock Grille. They had amazing food! I have never eaten there before, but I will defiantly be going back. So then I decided we had to go home because I was tired! I some how mustered up some energy and went out to see Ellis Dee (a local band) perform with some great friends. So in all I still have to do some shopping sometime. I am going this Friday so maybe I will be lucky!

And the Shopping has began....

Today Nick and I are going shopping! We are still looking for coffee and end tables. I sure hope we find them in Greenville. Also I have to buy Christmas ornaments and decorations. I decided to change my colors this year from blue and silver to green and red. I want to do an old timey kind of tree. We will see what I find before I plan too far. Also I need to find a dress for two Christmas parties and New Years. I am so excited because I love dressing up and rarely get the opportunity. We also are going start looking at ideas for finishing our garage. Wow we have lots to do! Have a great Saturday!!
Thankful for:
1) Money to shop with
2) Dressing up
3) Great Friends
4) My job
5) Wal-mart for making sure the kids had a great field trip

Robyn loves the kids!

What an amazing feeling to have a bunch of kindergarten kids run up to you and tell you that they love your hair and that you are beautiful! Nothing is better let me tell you! How do they notice things like that when others that see you everyday have no clue. Just another reason why kids are wonderful and why I love being with them everyday.

It's the Weekend Update

Let's see where to begin? Friday night we did the usual, LaCabana. It was great as usual. Then Saturday morning Carrie and I went to get our hair cuts. I decided against the Katie Holmes inspired cut and decided for a trim and bangs instead. I thinking I am getting used to it now and beginning to love it! It makes me look so different which is what I was going for. Thanks Christy for a great cut! That night we had a "couples" party for Johnny's birthday. It was so much fun! After that we went to Breakers and played pool and just had a good time. It was great to get to spend time with my BEST friends! Sunday I relaxed and took an hour nap that was great. Later we went to the in-laws for a wonderful BBQ. So now I am enjoying my day off and planning to do as little as possible, but we all know how that is. Have a great Monday!
Grateful for:
1) Amazing Friends
2) In-Laws
3) Christy
4)naps
5)Carrie and Johnny for having us over

Hair

Thanks to Carrie we both have a hair appointment Saturday! I am excited because it has been July since I have a hair cut and my style is out grown. Anyway I am contemplating getting Katie Holmes' haircut. May I just mention she just received an award for best hollywood hair! Who knew there was an award for that? This is basically what I had to begin with, but I still like it. So other than that I am just anticipating the up coming weekend!
Grateful for:
1) New Haircut
2) Friends
3)pizza

COLD!

Well this morning at car rider duty, I believe I froze to death! The wind was blowing so bad that one of my ears hurt for an hour afterward. I need a hat badly. I also got my first Christmas present! I know already! My wonderful mother-in-law ordered me Christmas salad plates and she wanted me to have them before Christmas. They are so cute and I love them. Nick also got his Hibachi grill, which is basically a small charcoal grill. We are so happy about this because we can take it on the balcony and cook without dragging the big grill out. Anyway I hope that everyone that could voted for liqour by the drink today!
Grateful for:
1. In laws
2. Eric- coming home soon
3. Computers for helping me keep in touch with friends
4. Parents of children that actually care.
5. Duncan- he makes me happy

Extra hour!

Yesterday the fall festival was great! There were so many people there to support our school and everyone seemed to be having a blast. A special thanks goes out to Amy and Nikki for their help with my game. I couldn't have done it without them. Also I want to thank Nick, Jason, Brett, Carrie, Johnny, Noah, and Aron for joining us in the fun.

After the fall festival Nick and I left to go to Anderson to eat and look for coffee table and end tables. No luck, but there is always next weekend. When we got home we watched Evan Almighty and enjoyed a nice quiet night at home ( I need one every now and then).

Today we have both been enjoying our extra hour and the day seems to be lasting forever! No complaints here! My parents just left from visiting us. It was so nice to seem them because I haven't seem them in several weeks.

Also today when I was on myspace I read a bulletin that I thought everyone should read. So thanks to Allison for posting it. It puts everything into perspective, which we all need a reminder of.

Trick or Treat!

Yesterday I left as soon as I got home to help Carrie pass out candy for work. Then we went back to her house and passed out candy there. So it was a night of scary and cute kids and candy. Who could ask for anything better!

Besides that I have now lost 17 lbs!!! I can actually tell myself now, so that is very rewarding and helping me to continue. I also am going to have to buy more pants because none of my pants ,besides jeans, fit right anymore. I am not complaining! The new Ingles in town is going to help my diet so much because they have some great healthy food.

Saturday my school is having a Fall Festival from 12-4 with lots of fun games and food. You should come and check it out!

Halloween Party

The Halloween party day has finally arrived! I am so excited that this is a new tradition for all of us. This is the second to many I am hoping. So I am going to spend the day trying to figure out what to do with my hair. What does a good witch do with her hair? Good question! I believe I have the makeup thing figured out. Anyway I forgot to mention that I am actually reading two books currently. I am way into both of them which is crazy. I am reading The Glass Castle by: Jeanette Walls and Play Dirty by: Sandra Brown.
Grateful for:
1) La Cabana: for having great food
2) Wal-Mart- for providing me with almost anything I need.
3) The new Ingels- which I will be visiting today.
4) Party City- for providing me with my costume
5) Friends- just because

16 lbs!!!!

Wow it seems like forever since I wrote anything, so I have a lot to catch up on.

Saturday we had a great time carving pumpkins, eating, chili, and watch a movie outside on a projector (very cool)! Then Sunday Nick, Brent and I went out to eat for lunch then we watched The Heartbreak Kid at the theater. The movie was so funny and I recommend it for anyone that needs a good laugh. After we got back we said our good byes to Brent. He had to leave early for work.

Other than that I have now lost 16 lbs!! I can't believe that I have stuck with this. I have been eating better (still need to work more on this) and working out 5 times a week since the beginning of August. Also I finally fixed me Halloween costume and am so excited about Saturday!!

Also I have finally finished Dear John by Nicholas Sparks. Just when I thought I was going to start my book list, a teacher from school brought me a book and I have already read 50 pages. It is so good. The name of the book is Play Dirty by Sandra Brown. I didn't think I would get into because it is not a love story, but wow was I wrong! Anyway now I am going to workout, again....!

Grateful for:
1) Gilad for his great workouts
2) Nick for always trying to cook healthy meals
3)Friends for making Saturday memorable
4) Carrie and Johnny for having a Halloween Party!

OH SATURDAYS!

It is Saturday and I am oh so happy!

We go all week looking forward to this day and when it finally comes we can take a deep breath and breath for the first real time all week.

Well I have to breath fast because today is a busy day. I need to get out of bed and clean my house for all the guest that will joining us this wonderful evening. Right now Nick and Brent( our house guest for the weekend) are deer hunting. I am assuming they were lucky because I was awaken by two gun shots and Duncan barking and howling.

So with a few quiet moments in the house I am going to savor them and catch up on some reading. I am trying so hard to finish this book so I can begin my book list.

I will be sure to post pictures from our pumpkin carving, eating, relaxing by the fire Saturday, for everyone to enjoy. Also the picture of Duncan is coming I just have to wait for him to be still for the camera.

Happy Saturday to all!!!

Grateful for:
1) Saturdays
2) Friends
3) books
4) pumpkins
5) Being truly happy

Books

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
I have always enjoyed reading novels. Literature was always my favorite subject in school. So needless to say, I am always reading something. The last couple of years I have picked up several books and would take months to finish them. Then the other day I was in Target ( the best store in the world) and was looking at all the wonderful new books that are out. So I am now motivated to read my books quicker, so I can get to some new ones. I have made a list of books that I plan on reading hopefully before the summer.
My book list:
Bed Rest by Sarah Bilston
If anyone would like to join me on this little adventure, I would love to have a little book club.
I am planning on starting Lost Hearts in Italy as soon as I finish the book I am reading now.
Grateful for:
1) Renewing my love of books
2) Duncan for just being him
3) Halloween candy
4) Mother in-law- for cooking supper tonight
5) Cooler weather and rain on the way

Still Coughing

I have been coughing for what seems like forever! It becomes very annoying when you have talk all day and the talking causes more coughing! I am hoping and praying it ends very soon. Other than coughing this week has been normal so far.
Grateful for:
1) Having a great job!
2) Having a husband that cooks for me every night.
3) Getting an grooming apt. for Duncan for Thursday
4) Students at school for always giving me a reason to smile.
5) God for being so great to me.

Clean garage

This morning Nick was so sweet. He jumped out of bed, kissed me good bye, and came back about 10 mins. later with some very fattening biscuits from the Biscuit Barn. I guess he knew I needed a break from the dieting. After savoring every bite, we began cleaning the garage. The garage was in much need of cleaning. We had trash, dead plants, and random junk everywhere. We also had to do some pruning of plants for the upcoming cold weather. Now that we are finally finished we have time to relax. All of this cleaning is because of the annual pumpkin carving next weekend. We are carving, watching scary movies, eating chili. and sitting by the fire. I am very excited!! In about an hour Carrie is coming to get me and so we can pick up some BBQ plates (to raise money for a friend with cancer) and eat and watch the Georgia game. Tomorrow Nick and I are going to Sam's and looking for coffee and end tables. So good weekend to all!
Grateful for:
1) clean garage
2) finally feeling better
3) Nick for being so thoughtful
4) Carrie for being a great sister and friend
5) tonight

Good Day

Today was such a good day at school!!! I am so grateful to have these days and more than anything I think it was because I had a positive attitude and the children saw that.
Grateful for:

2) Teaching- love of my life!
3) Weather- which will be a lot cooler tomorrow!
4) Parents- for always being there for me
5) 100 calorie packs- for getting me through my diet

Hot!

It is fall and almost 90 degrees! Is this signs of global warming? I am beginning to believe it. Anyway yesterday was a teacher workday and I sat in a discipline class that was actually good. So I know have more trick of the trade to put in my teacher tool belt. Today was early release for the students, but not me. I did get a chance to catch up on some things, so that was helpful.
Grateful for:
1) Early release days
2) Warm weather- I am sure I will miss this come January
3) Chocolate
4) Mother In-law- for cooking tonight
5) Nick- just for being him

Sunday

Yesterday everyone went to Carrie and Johnny's to watch the Georgia game, eat pizza, and have fun! Fun we had! Nick made an amazing spinach and artichoke dip. YUM! We also drew names for Christmas which is fast approaching. I really need to start looking for gifts. We also discussed the Halloween party. We have decided that all the girls are going to get ready somewhere and then the guys are going to get ready somewhere else. I think this is going to be soo much fun. Other than that today has been filled with some laundry, cleaning, and soon to be grilling out. Nick and I have made a little tradition of grilling tons of food on the grill about once a month and freezing it. This makes cooking during the week so fast and surprisingly the food taste like it came right off the grill. Also the it is healthier. Speaking of healthier I have lost another pound! I am now at 14lbs!! So good Sunday to all!
Grateful for:
1) Friends: So amazing!
2) Nick's dip: my splurge of the week and it was so worth it.
3) Sundays: I day to relax and prepare for the upcoming week.
4) Camera: A great way to capture memories that you will never want to forget.
5) Grey's Anatomy: the topics always make me think and I always tear up at the ends.

SICK

Well I am home and not working today because I had a temperature and sore throat all night and still this morning. So here I lay in bed bored to death, but feel too bad to get up and do anything. I find it ironic and not a bit funny that one of my things to be thankful for on Wednesday was my health and the fact that I have not gotten sick! Well look at what happened. Is someone trying to tell me something!? I hope I get to feeling better before tonight so I can join everyone and La Cabana and celebrate Nikki and Amy accomplishments at school. I am just praying it is a 24 hour bug that I will quickly get over. So today I am still thankful for some things and they are:
1) Medicine: I am so thankful for DayQuil and NiteQuil (sp?)
2) Co-Workers: The school could not find me a sub, but thanks to great co-workers they are taking care of my students.
3) Bed: even though I am bored it sure is comfortable
4) Nick: for taking care of me last night
5) Health: some how I took this for granted

Your right! It really isn't that bad!

So after reading Amy's blog and I think I am going to try to write down 5 things that I am thankful for everyday. I will do that on here so maybe I will inspire someone else just like Amy inspired me. I am sure I will still complain b\c it just helps some days. Writing down 5 things is going to be hard some days, but I do have so many things to be thankful for.
1) Patience- even when I think I am completely out of this I always find a way to give a little more.
2) My Health- so many people have gotten sick or are already sick and luckily I have not!
3) Co workers- b\c when I need them the most they are their
4) Diet Coke- It gives me a pick me up without the calories
5) Cool Weather- It helps my husband have a much easier day

Stressed

So some how over the summers I always tend to forget how stressful the beginning of the school years are. I am just looking forward to after Christmas when things get back to being fun and more relaxed at school. Anyway other than that I found out that Brent (a friend from Michigan) is coming to stay with us Oct. 19-23. I am very excited b\c it has been, what seems like forever, since we all saw him last. I am hoping to make the weekend lots of fun for him. If you have any suggestions let me know!

Busy Busy!

Yesterday I went to the Lavonia fall festival with Nick, Carrie, Brinsley, her friend Amanda, and Noah. The place had so much food it was ridiculous! Next year I will have to make sure I go there to eat. Also I bought a magnet that says "I love my Yorkie." It is so cute! I plan to put it on my car and in the process support the Humane Society. Then we all went to Tugaloo State Park where we had a family reunion for my mom's side of the family. I had lots of fun and got to talk with people I only see every now and then. Then we went home and Nick and I finished up season 2 of Grey's Anatomy. We are eventually going to catch up with the new season. That show is wonderful and always makes me teary eyed. So now I am about clean the house and wash some clothes. So good Sunday to all!

So I off to drink margaritas eat Mexican and just have fun!!! Then tomorrow I have a family reunion which should be fun?. Nothing planned for tomorrow night just yet. Sunday I plan on doing nothing! So good bye and good weekend!

Atlanta

Tuesday when I left work, Nick and I went straight to Atlanta. After sitting in traffic we finally made it to the hotel! Once their we left and went to Pappadeaux which is this great seafood restaurant. We had appetizers, meal, drinks, and dessert. It was so great just to relax and enjoy our meal. Trust me there was no dieting on this trip. The next day when Nick left at 6:30 am to take his test I stayed wide awake and watched tv and read magazines. That was much better than working. When Nick got back we left and stopped at the Mall of Georgia to eat at Ted's Montana Grill. They had very good food and everything in the restaurant was earth friendly. My to go cup was made from corn! Very cool! So today was back to the grind of working, but tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!!! THANK GOD!

TV TIME

Today begins my tv obsession. As much as I hate to admit it I am really addicted to some tv shows. Today Dancing with the Stars, Prison Break, How I met you Mother, Chuck, The Bachelor, Heroes, and The Big Bang Theory all come on. Why do they play so many shows on the same day??? Thank goodness for Tivo. Other than watching tv I am going to my in-laws to eat a wonderful meal. YUM can't wait!
UPDATE: If you read this earlier, well read again. I completely forgot somethings. I have lost another pound. That is 13lbs in all!!! I can't believe I have stuck with it this time. Anyway Tuesday after work Nick and I are heading to the big ATL. Nick has a test to take at The World Congress Center at 8am Wed. morning so we decided to get a hotel room for the night. I am taking a personal day so I hope my class or really the sub survives. I will be back Wednesday for the next update. I am sure you are on the edge of your seat!

Saturday-Blah!

Well Saturday started off really well. We had made plans the night before to cook for everyone. So we cleaned all morning and planned what we were cooking. Then the plans got blown out of the water! So we then went to Anderson and met my parents to eat. Then we went to Party City and I bought a Halloween costume. I will not be the flight attendant because the costume was extremely short and see through! So I am going to be a witch! Also today is the first day of fall. It does not feel like it, but I hope the cooler weather come soon.

Hump Day

Well this week is almost over!!! I am ready for the weekend. Today was actually a great day at school. So no complaints here. Also I am very excited because Sadie (Carrie's dog) is coming to stay from tomorrow till Monday. I am soooo happy! Duncan loves Sadie and they play so well together. So this weekend should be filled with lots of playing outside!!!

HMMM....

Where to start? Yesterday was great! Nick and I just sat around and relaxed all day. We did go to the Wal-Mart, but we went so early that hardly anyone was there. I love Wal-Mart like that! Anyway I bought a couple of Mums and planted them. They always remind me that cooler weather is on the way. Speaking of it was quite chilly this morning. Fall is just around the corner (this Sunday actually). Other than that Nick grilled out tons of food for us to put in the freezer for quick week night meals. Today was crazy. This new student is turning everything upside down! So needless to say I am tired and cranky. Then I read on Brinsley's (my neice) myspace page something absolutely amazing that she wrote about me. So now I am in a much better mood. Thanks Brinsley! She is wonderful and makes me so proud. Also some good news: I have now lost 12lbs!!!

Tomorrow is Friday!

My title says it all. This week has been a little crazy! I have a new student at school that has a very rare disorder. She can hear, but everything just sounds like noise. She also can not talk (due to the fact that she cannot hear correctly). She does understand sign language which unfortunately I do now know. I have learned bathroom, no, stop, thank you and I love you. I use no and stop all the time! Anyway she gets very frustrated because she cannot communicate. I feel very bad for her and I feel a little helpless because there is only so much I can do. I am thinking regular ed. sounds better and better. Besides that I am just really looking forward to this weekend. Nick and I are going to clean our house from top to bottom. I hate feeling like something is dirty or disorganized. I have so much chaos at school, I want to come home and feel relaxed. I am not relaxed when things are like they are now. So wish me luck on cleaning!

Fall and Friends

Well Friday the surprise birthday for Carrie and Shelly went off without a hitch! The party was lots of fun! I got some really cute and funny pictures. They are all posted on my myspace page, so check them out. Saturday Amy, her mom, and I went shopping for fall decorations. We had a great time and found some really cute things. I will post pictures of my creations soon. Later that afternoon everyone went to Downtown Cafe to eat and then back to my house. It was a relaxing night and exactly what I needed. Sunday I went to the lake with my family to celebrate my mom's, Carrie's, and my brother-in-law's birthdays. I was so glad to get to see everyone. So the weekend was busy, but great. Happy Birthday Carrie!!

This upcoming weekend

Well this weekend is soon becoming very busy! Saturday Amy, Carrie, and I are going FALL shopping. I have to say I soooo excited. The summer things are going to be packed up. Then after that Carrie and I are planning a Fondue party to celebrate her birthday. I am thinking cheese and chocolate oh my! Yummy! Come by and join the fun. Then Sunday after I decorate for fall (I know it is still technically summer, but who cares) I am going to my parents to celebrate three birthdays. Carrie's, my Mom's, and Russell's birthdays all fall in September. We are going to grill out and enjoy each others company. So needless to say I am glad to see the weekend roll in. Have a great Thursday!

It's the weekend update!

Saturday we all went over to Amy and Michael's to watch GA TECH and GA play some football. We ordered pizza and had chocolate fondue for dessert. Very delicious! Thanks Amy! Then we went to Amanda and Lamar's engagement party that happened to be just down the street. Lets just say we were not really watching the game anymore. That is okay though because they were winning. We had lots of fun!! Then Sunday (and surprisingly feeling very chipper) Nick and I decided to ride to Anderson and watch Superbad. The movie was sooooo funny. I literally laughed every 5 seconds. I would not recommend it for children or older people because the humor was often crude, but none the less funny! We also went to the Halloween store in the mall to see if they had my costume and they did not. So I guess I am just going to have to order it online and send it back if it does not fit. Oh well. Well today is Labor day which means no work for me or Nick. How exciting. So I plan on not doing too much! Have a great Labor Day!!!!

Happy Thursday

Well today was not a typical day at work. I had a co-teaching seminar to attend at 12 so I got to leave early and have lunch. I went to Subway (not my typical Slimfast but not too many calories). Since Carrie was close by I ate lunch with her. I never get to go out for lunch so I was very grateful. After the seminar (which was actually very good) I got to go home at 3! How exciting! Other than there is nothing new going on. The first college football games come on this Saturday. I do not really care about college football, but since I am from Georgia I suppose I have to go for the Bulldogs. I just can't wait for all the cookouts and hanging out with friends.

Updates: I completely forgot to add that Carrie inspired me try and teach Duncan to lay down. He will already sit, but now he can lay down too!! It only took a few tries with food and he did it! Now he will do it without any food or treats. He is so smart! Also I read the front of the Hartwell Sun and they are in discussions about passing liquor buy the drink. How great would it be to have a REAL margarita on Fridays!! Also think of all the new restaurants that would come! I will be voting yes!

Thankful

Basically on a daily basis I hear story after story about how children are treated. Whether it be from physical or emotional abuse, not getting enough food at home, children being left home alone, and children that have never met their real parents. You can only feel sorry for them for so long and then you have to show them how to handle the cards they have unfortunately been dealt. Hearing these awful things everyday, I begin to realize how very thankful I am for my life. I have parents that have always been there for me, I have friends that are amazing, and I have a husband that constantly amazes me. I have NOTHING to complain about. I was given the opportunities to succeed. I ate breakfast every morning, I have someone help me with homework every night, and I knew many people loved me. Some children don't even have one of these! I just hope they know that I love them!

Friends

Well I am very frustrated! I am not going into details, but I am just tired of talking about some of the same things with the same person and nothing changes! I am too old for this crap and I have some great friends that are wonderful! I wish things were different, but reality is they are not. Anyway besides that I have lost another pound. I am down 11lbs so far. Well off to workout and hopefully get rid of some frustration.

The weekend

This weekend went by way too fast! Friday we went to La Cabana and then to Carrie and Johnny's. A good time was had by all. Saturday Nick and I went to Anderson and watched Rush Hour 3. It was a great movie with lots of action. Then we came back and went to dinner with Jason and Nikki to Siblings. The food and company couldn't have been better. Then we went back to our house and hung out! We looked up Halloween costumes and I have decided I am just going to tell everyone what my costume is. WHY NOT!? I am going to be a flight attendant and Nick is going to be a pilot. Halloween is a time to be something completely different from who you are and I am defiantly not a flight attendant (I hate to fly). Sunday I was lazy! I am finally getting on the Gray's Anatomy boat and trying to catch up through Netflix. I have completed the first 5 episodes. I love the show so far. Today was a great day at school! Can I just say I LOVE MY JOB!

Imagine this but not that sexy! There will be a tank top underneath ;).

Halloween Costume!

I found a costume!!! Actually Nick and I found a couple costume. I have not decided if I am going to tell. I am waiting to see if everyone else shares theirs. Hmm I guess we will see. Also I am so glad that tomorrow is FRIDAY!!! All I have to say is TGIF. Anyway right now my poor husband is working outside in the 102 degree weather and I feel so bad. I pray cooler weather and rain comes soon so he can have a break! Well I am out....

A MILESTONE has been made!

Today was a milestone in the weight lost journey. I am now below a certain weight that I have not been below in years. Of course I am not going to say what that weight is, but I am soooo happy. It makes all of this so worth while and gives me the drive to keep going. I have now lost a total of 10lbs. I believe I have lost every pound in my boobs! That just may just be my opinion. Why could it not be in my butt, thighs, or stomach? Anyway other than that all I have been doing is working. I have been researching Halloween outfits on the web. If anyone knows of good websites please let me know. I am looking for something different. Every website has the same thing!! Anyway I off to relax. Have a great HUMP day!

Monday, August 20, 2007

Oh Monday Monday

Well I am one more pound down! So it appears that I am losing about one pound a week. I guess that is okay since that is what they say is safe to lose and more likely will be able to keep it off. We will see. Other than that today was just a typical day. Amy also came by the school today to see about observing some classes for school. So maybe she will one day get a job at South Hart! That would be great!!! Anyway I have nothing else to talk about!

This weekend!

Saturday Nick and I went to Anderson for some shopping. I was looking for jeans, but no luck. They apparently do not make jeans for my shape. You have to be a size zero and tall! Anyway I did however go to Hobby Lobby and buy some fall decorations. I know it is summer and 100 degrees, but I could not resist. They had the cutest stuff ever!!! I bought two decorative pumpkins, a sign for the yard, and a small scarecrow. I will definitely be going back closer to fall for more. After that we went to Chili's and I got to eat my splurge for the week, steak and portobello fajitas. They were so good! After that we went to Sam's and I found some 100 calorie packs that I have never seen before. Needless to say I was happy. They had Chips Ahoy, Nutter Butter, and Oreo bars. Also they had Reese's and Hershey's snack packs with only 100 calories. Then we finally went back home to have a relaxing night watching a funny movie (Norbit). What a great Saturday. Today we stepped into high gear and cleaned. We cleaned out our closets which were much needed. When we were finished we had 3 trash bags full of clothes and shoes. We both found several things we forgot we had or just thought we lost. I have pictures to follow of the befores and afters. Besides that I am just relaxing the rest of the day and hopefully going to be able to read my new book (also purchased at Sam's: Dear John by Nicholas Sparks). Have a great Sunday.

My before! And After....

Long Day

So it is Wednesday which means it is almost the weekend! Don't get me wrong I really do love my job, but it very draining. Anyway I do not have that much to say. I have lost 8lbs so far. I can not tell a huge difference, but my clothes are fitting better. I am also doing this great workout on Fit TV (direct tv). I TIVO it everyday and it has cardio, weights, and abs everytime plus a focus on some body part. By the way, the name is Gilad's Sculpt something. Anyway I really like it and I think it will keep me motivated to workout everyday. Other than that I am just working working working like everyone else!
This is Gliad by the way.

More pics

I accidentally pressed the wrong key so back to more pics.

Family Reunion

Sunday was the annual Cobb reunion. We ate a lot and got to see people we do not normally see and that is always "fun." The best part this year is we went to a local farm/zoo. It was very neat and I got to seem some strange animals for people to have in their back yard in Georgia. I have lots of pictures so enjoy!

Thoughts of the day...

Isn't is strange how life changes constantly. Learning from mistakes that have been made too many times and finally realizing that you don't need it in your life. I am not talking about any one thing in particular just life in general. I guess the older I get the more I realize what is important and whats not. A lot of people do not get to live long enough to even ponder these questions. I am just grateful to be alive. I look at everyday as a blessing and try not to take anything for granted. Some people are going to look back at their lives and it is all going to seem like a fog. Yes they may have been there physically, but were they really present? I hope to live everyday as it is my last and make real connections with people. Just a thought....

The VOTES are in!

Thanks to everyone who voted on my little survey. The name I wanted was chosen (Chloie) and I am sure one day that will be the name of my girl. I don't have boys names picked out yet. So if you have suggestions let me know! Anyway today was the first day of school. I don't think I sat down once. It was very hectic! We have made a lot of scheduling changes since last year, so that was crazy. Anyway so far so good! I am just very tired. On another note I have worked out everyday this week! Aren't you proud! Ok I will stop with the exclamation points!!!!!!! I don't have much else to say. BYE!

Papers, Pencils, and Glue, It is the 1st Day of School (actually tomorrow!)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Well the time has finally come. I have done everything there is to possible do to prepare myself. Now all there is left to do is teach. Thank goodness! Thanks to not having a homeroom, I have the great pleasure of morning duty. This means I have to get to school at 7:30 sharp and help kids out of their cars and direct them to the lunchroom. Right now it is fine, but I am not looking forward to the rainy or cold days ahead. So be thinking about me and my hair on those days. Other than that I am going to have a great group of kids this year that I am very much looking forward to teaching. On another front I am down 1 more pound! I have not been able to eat like I would want this week (b\c of pre-planning), but I have been working out. I am sure this has helped burn those extra calories. So I am off to do that dreaded thing now. Keep me in your prayers for tomorrow and all the children who are beginning a new year.

Its the weekend update!

This weekend was not long enough! Friday we went to La Cabana of course and soon after eating I got very sick. I had major stomach aches the rest of the night. Then Saturday as I was trying to finish school shopping, I continued to get pains on and off. That night we went to Michael and Amy's house and grilled out. We ate a wonderful meal and then while the men were watching 300 (which I had no intention of watching), Amy and I researched fall/Halloween craft projects on the internet. We found some at www.hobbylobby.com and www.marthastewart.com. So hopefully soon I will be creating some wonderful masterpieces. I have to say fall is probably my favorite season and the best to decorate for. So anyway Sunday I cleaned and did laundry and then went to see HAIRSPRAY! The movie was soooo good! If you like musicals this is a must see. John Travolta was hilarious. In all the weekend was great and now back to the grind of work. I worked my tail off today trying to get everything finished before the kids come back to school. I have all my lessons completed for the first two weeks so I can't complain. Now I am off to relax!

TGIF

Well today was extremely busy. I finally got my schedule and I have to say I am very happy with it. Right now we do not have very many special education students, but I am sure that will change. I brought my camera to school today, but did not have a free moment to take any pictures of my room. Maybe Monday I will find the time. Anyway so tonight is La Cabana night. Me and a group of friends go there to eat every Friday. We have been doing this for well over 3 years. It is a great time to relax after a long week of work. I am going to relax!!

TIRED!!

Well today was the first day back to work. The county wide meeting was not near as long as I thought. The new superintendent seems like he is going to make some awesome changes! I met my new principal and he seems ok so far. I don't really have much to go on yet, but so far so good. Other than that I went to the Rotary luncheon and totally could not eat healthy. I guess this will be my big splurge of the week. The meal consisted of small piece of chicken, green beans, and bake potato. I guess that is not too bad especially since I really didn't eat much of the baked potato. Anyway I still do not have a schedule so I really didn't have much to do the rest of the day. Maybe tomorrow I will finally get one! Last night was a very restless night of sleep. I had trouble going to sleep because I had about a million things running through my mind. Then at about 3:30 I had to go to the bathroom and apparently woke Duncan (my dog) up in the process. He then proceeds to whine until I finally take him out to use the bathroom. Then I finally go back to sleep at about 4 only to be waken up at 5 by Nick's alarm. Then finally went back to sleep at 5:30 then had to wake up at 7. So needless to say I am TIRED! Even though I could go to sleep right now I am going to workout. I really don't want to, but I am! I told you I was determined ;)! Anyway I am going to try to remember to take my camera tomorrow so that I can take some pictures of my room to post on here. I am off to sweat some lunch off!
**Also please vote for a potential girls name. I am curious to know what people think.**

Me and Doddle Bug!

Yes I know two post in one day! Well I just had to share my last day playing with Duncan outside. That is probably one thing I am going to miss the most. I love spending everyday with him!

Here is Duncan ready to go!

Here he is exploring.

I found a tree to hold my camera!

Me and Duncan playing with a stick!

The huge tree in my back yard that I LOVE!

My flowers that are attracting bees and butterflies like crazy.

Butterfly close up.

So it is 90 degrees and Duncan is ready to go in the AC (I agreed).

I will miss Duncan!
