It's FRIDAY!!!

Ok so it is finally Friday! This has been the longest week ever! I am excited to go to La Cabana and see my AMAZING friends. It seems like forever since I have seen them and really it hasn't. That is how much I love them!! I just finished preparing a French bread casserole fore Julie's baby shower tomorrow. I made two and I was shocked that it required 16 eggs. Crazy I know, but the recipe is from Paula Deen. It also had lots of butter and half and half. Defiantly very fattening and yummy I am sure. Well off to enjoy my weekend! Hope you do the same.

Christmas Tree

Nick and I put up our Christmas tree Sunday afternoon. We had so much fun and the tree looks just like I wanted. I used green, red, and gold with rustic and traditional accents. I think this is the best tree yet. I will be posting pictures of other Christmas decor later. I am kinda slow at this!

Turkey, shopping, and family oh my!

What a busy couple of days!! It has been a whirlwind of eating, cooking, seeing family and friends, and of course shopping. I will not bore you with the details, but let's just say I am tired and ready for a quiet day.

Today we do have some things on the to-do list. As soon as I get ready we are going to Anderson to pick a few things up at Sam's, buy one or two gifts, and look at the Wood You store for tables. I love the Wood You store because the furniture is unfinished and that way we can do anything we want to it. Why did I not think of it earlier? Then when we get back the fall decorations are going away and the Christmas ones are coming out. On black Friday I found some of the cutest ornaments, tree topper, and outside pre-lit tree ever! Of course they were all on sale so that helped with how excited I was.

Also I just wanted to take a minute to thank Nick for cooking an amazing dinner Friday night. It was absolutely to die for. Butternut squash with goat cheese and hazelnuts is my new favorite! I also want to thank amazing friends who joined us in giving thanks. You are all the BEST! Well off to enjoy my last day of work freedom.

One last note: Instead of a list of grateful things I am now going to post a quote. ENJOY!

Giving Thanks

I have very much enjoyed writing what I am thankful for at the end of my posts. Today will be my last day. Even though I have loved it, I do believe it is time to think of something new to do. When ever I think of something I will let you know! :) Writing down my gratitudes has made me realize, even in the worst of times, there is always something to be grateful for. During this time of thanks I have realized I should NEVER complain. I have everything I need to live comfortably, an amazing family, friends that constantly give me great enjoyment, and a husband that I could go on and on about. So during this holiday season remember how lucky you really are!!

On another note I am sooooo thankful to have the next three days off! Even though they will be filled with cleaning, cooking, and shopping they will be enjoyed nonetheless. Today will be lots and lots of cleaning and grocery shopping. Thanks to everyone coming to our little Thanksgiving dinner Friday night!!

Shopping- not so good!

Well the shopping adventure did not go as planned. First off I started feeling car sick on the way and after eating I felt a little better. So we went to Garden Ridge to look for Christmas decorations with absolutely no luck. There were so many people it was hard to look at anything. Then we went to Pier One and had no luck with the tables. At the mall I tried on one dress and did not like it so I gave up. Then we decided to go to Wal-mart where I actually found all my Christmas ornaments. Good ole Wal-Mart! Then we ate supper at Flat Rock Grille. They had amazing food! I have never eaten there before, but I will defiantly be going back. So then I decided we had to go home because I was tired! I some how mustered up some energy and went out to see Ellis Dee (a local band) perform with some great friends. So in all I still have to do some shopping sometime. I am going this Friday so maybe I will be lucky!

And the Shopping has began....

Today Nick and I are going shopping! We are still looking for coffee and end tables. I sure hope we find them in Greenville. Also I have to buy Christmas ornaments and decorations. I decided to change my colors this year from blue and silver to green and red. I want to do an old timey kind of tree. We will see what I find before I plan too far. Also I need to find a dress for two Christmas parties and New Years. I am so excited because I love dressing up and rarely get the opportunity. We also are going start looking at ideas for finishing our garage. Wow we have lots to do! Have a great Saturday!!
Thankful for:
1) Money to shop with
2) Dressing up
3) Great Friends
4) My job
5) Wal-mart for making sure the kids had a great field trip

Robyn loves the kids!

What an amazing feeling to have a bunch of kindergarten kids run up to you and tell you that they love your hair and that you are beautiful! Nothing is better let me tell you! How do they notice things like that when others that see you everyday have no clue. Just another reason why kids are wonderful and why I love being with them everyday.

It's the Weekend Update

Let's see where to begin? Friday night we did the usual, LaCabana. It was great as usual. Then Saturday morning Carrie and I went to get our hair cuts. I decided against the Katie Holmes inspired cut and decided for a trim and bangs instead. I thinking I am getting used to it now and beginning to love it! It makes me look so different which is what I was going for. Thanks Christy for a great cut! That night we had a "couples" party for Johnny's birthday. It was so much fun! After that we went to Breakers and played pool and just had a good time. It was great to get to spend time with my BEST friends! Sunday I relaxed and took an hour nap that was great. Later we went to the in-laws for a wonderful BBQ. So now I am enjoying my day off and planning to do as little as possible, but we all know how that is. Have a great Monday!
Grateful for:
1) Amazing Friends
2) In-Laws
3) Christy
5)Carrie and Johnny for having us over

Thanks to Carrie we both have a hair appointment Saturday! I am excited because it has been July since I have a hair cut and my style is out grown. Anyway I am contemplating getting Katie Holmes' haircut. May I just mention she just received an award for best hollywood hair! Who knew there was an award for that? This is basically what I had to begin with, but I still like it. So other than that I am just anticipating the up coming weekend!
Grateful for:
1) New Haircut
2) Friends
5)true love

Well this morning at car rider duty, I believe I froze to death! The wind was blowing so bad that one of my ears hurt for an hour afterward. I need a hat badly. I also got my first Christmas present! I know already! My wonderful mother-in-law ordered me Christmas salad plates and she wanted me to have them before Christmas. They are so cute and I love them. Nick also got his Hibachi grill, which is basically a small charcoal grill. We are so happy about this because we can take it on the balcony and cook without dragging the big grill out. Anyway I hope that everyone that could voted for liqour by the drink today!
Grateful for:
1. In laws
2. Eric- coming home soon
3. Computers for helping me keep in touch with friends
4. Parents of children that actually care.
5. Duncan- he makes me happy

Extra hour!

Yesterday the fall festival was great! There were so many people there to support our school and everyone seemed to be having a blast. A special thanks goes out to Amy and Nikki for their help with my game. I couldn't have done it without them. Also I want to thank Nick, Jason, Brett, Carrie, Johnny, Noah, and Aron for joining us in the fun.

After the fall festival Nick and I left to go to Anderson to eat and look for coffee table and end tables. No luck, but there is always next weekend. When we got home we watched Evan Almighty and enjoyed a nice quiet night at home ( I need one every now and then).

Today we have both been enjoying our extra hour and the day seems to be lasting forever! No complaints here! My parents just left from visiting us. It was so nice to seem them because I haven't seem them in several weeks.

Also today when I was on myspace I read a bulletin that I thought everyone should read. So thanks to Allison for posting it. It puts everything into perspective, which we all need a reminder of.

Trick or Treat!

Yesterday I left as soon as I got home to help Carrie pass out candy for work. Then we went back to her house and passed out candy there. So it was a night of scary and cute kids and candy. Who could ask for anything better!

Besides that I have now lost 17 lbs!!! I can actually tell myself now, so that is very rewarding and helping me to continue. I also am going to have to buy more pants because none of my pants ,besides jeans, fit right anymore. I am not complaining! The new Ingles in town is going to help my diet so much because they have some great healthy food.

Saturday my school is having a Fall Festival from 12-4 with lots of fun games and food. You should come and check it out!
