Big Brother and Lost

My two favorite shows right now are Big Brother and Lost. I literally jumped up in bed when Allison and Amanda got sick. At first I assumed Amanda was being her dramatic self and was not really that sick, but when she passed out, I was shocked. Then Allison was in the diary room and had an allergic reaction. DRAMA! I thought maybe it was something in the slop, but I guess not. It was weird that the producers didn't even explain what Allison was allergic to.

Last week on Lost I was so confused when Kate was with Aaron at the end of the show. WHAT IN THE WORLD HAPPENED!? I cannot wait till tonight to find out more answers. I say to Nick every time we watch, " I am so LOST watching Lost!"

Sorry for the rambling. Have a great Thursday.

Nick and I went to a new church today. We use to go to another church, but we wanted to go a bigger church that had more going on. Amy and Michael also went so we were not all alone in a new place. Everything went great and I really liked the service. The preacher was funny and his sermon was very relevant and never once boring. I loved the fact that they have lots of activities for children and a preschool. This will come in handy one of these days. I am very optimistic that this will be a place where Nick and I can learn more about God. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we become more acquainted with this church. It is a process that I hope will be filled with great memories.

Finally the weekend

It has been one of those weeks. You know the one where everything goes wrong, you have a million things to do that never seem to get done, and just when you think you can't handle one more thing something else is thrown at you. Well that has been my week in a nutshell. I have not been sleeping well(rambling thoughts and worries) so that has not helped. Anyway today was very yucky and cold, so I was so glad to hear that tomorrow is going to be much warmer and not raining.

Tomorrow I am getting my haircut, which I am very excited about. I am not really sure what I want to do, but I just need a change. I am also bringing my wonderful niece Brinsley to have her hair done also. We should fun and I will also make sure to actually take some pictures.

Tomorrow we also have a Lawn and Garden Shower to attend for one of Nick's long time friends. Then soon after we are going out to eat at this amazing restaurant, Sullivan's. The food is amazing! So good weekend to all!!

I scream you scream!

I feel like I write about food often on here, but what can I say "A girl has got to eat!" Every once in awhile Nick and I will make peanut butter ice cream. Basically we heat peanut butter in the microwave and put it on vanilla ice cream. If you have not tried this, you should! I love peanut butter so for me it is to DIE for. I don't eat it often because I am sure it is terrible for me, but we all have to splurge.

So what is your splurge?

Mine was the one of the left (trying to save a few calories without the whip cream :)

Desiree's Birthday

Here is the cute purse Nick got me for Valentine's day. It is Vera Bradley, print Daisy Daisy, and style Lola.

My niece Desiree has a birthday on Valentine's Day so we celebrated at my parents last night. We had yummy beef stew. I made macaroni and cheese to go with it and it turned out so good. I will add the recipe at the bottom because it is supper simple. I did not do a very good job of taking pictures, but here are some that I did take.

Inside: Kite, bag of outdoor stuff, and huge box of Crayola sidewalk chalk
Two peas in a pod (Brinsley- neice and Dad)Baby the catMy Dad the Yo-yo championMy favorite picture- They were playing in the rain (Brinsley and Harley)Glorious Macaroni and Cheese
1 8 oz bow of elbow macaroni
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup of Mayo
1/4 cup of pimentos diced
1/4 cup of onions diced
1 pound cheese, grated

Saute pimentos and onions lightly in three tablespoons of margarine. Add all ingredients and mix together in large bowl. Salt to taste. Pour into greased casserole dish. Bake 25 mins. on 350 degrees. Enjoy!

I have official become a blog addict! I know I am not alone in this. I love reading other people's life stories especially from people you would never normally meet. I have enjoyed my time blogging immensely and I want to know who reads my blog. Honestly I will be okay if only close friends read this, but I am very curious who else out there is reading. If you are reading this please leave a quick comment. It can be a simple hello, even if it is your first time reading. I just want to see how many of you are out there in blogger world.

What a week!

Wow this week has been crazy! Monday night after eating dinner I got terribly sick. My wonderful husband gave me the stomach virus. LOVELY! I was sick the entire night and did not go to work Tuesday. I went back to work Wednesday and finally started eating normally yesterday. Luckily I could eat because I made reservation at Cateechee for Nick and I. We ate a very romantic and delicious dinner. Nick also gave me a new Vera Bradley bag. It is so cute! I will post pictures tomorrow. Today was not so great! Let just say I am exhausted!! I will not go into details because that is not what this blog is for and I do not want to replay the day. I want to forget about it and move on the long weekend ahead. Enjoy!

Who to vote for?

Some of you may already know who you are going to vote for the next president. If you are like me you are confused by all the debating back and forth. I was sent a website that allows you to take a 10 question quiz and based on your answer it will tell you who matches up with you. Of course you should base your vote on many other things, but this is a quick look at the candidates. Have fun!

New Comforter!!

Yesterday after work I went to Wal-Mart on a mission for a comforter. I didn't want to spend much because I like to change things so often. I found this great brownish comforter and some really cute pillows. I loved that the underside is checkered. I also bought the red blanket to match the color of the walls in the bedroom. Even better the comforter was on sale!! Only 59.99 and both pillows were 11.00 a piece. The red pillow was from the last bed set. The comforter is so soft. Don't you just love Wal-Mart!

This morning I took Duncan for some much needed grooming. I can't believe how long it was in between haircuts. I feel like such a bad Mommy. Anyway he looks great now and smells even better.

Tonight the gang is off to eat at a local restaurant and hang out afterward. I will be sure to take lots of photos!

Have a wonderful Saturday!

Garage Update

This is what I came home to yesterday!! Nick was rained out at work so he finished all the insulation. I am glad he got to do this because now we can trim the windows and begin on the walls this weekend. I have already decided that one half wall of the garage is going to be my craft space. I am going to get a desk and tons of storage so I can do more crafty things in the future. I am so excited for it to be all over and done!

This isn't your mother's meatloaf!

Monday evening Nick prepared us mini meatloaves. I so love him!!They were so adorable (yes food can be adorable). He had a surprise of cheese in the middle and was so cute as he waited for me to discover it. This was a surprise because he would not let me enter the kitchen until he put them in the oven. He also added bacon on top! YUM! Now the working out has began again!!
Nick's Tip: place a slice of loaf bread under the meat to soak up all the unwanted grease.

Speaking of, I finally started back on the workout regimen. I slacked for a month because I had so much going on. I am back on it strong.

Yesterday was Family Reading Night at the school I teach at. It was a lot of fun. The families got to eat pizza and listen to an local author talk about creating children's books. Being such an avid reader I was as excited as the kids.

Super Bowl

Well the Super Bowl started off looking promising. Nick spent all day fixing gumbo and we cleaned. His parents came over to eat and as soon as we took our last bites we got a call. Nick and his dad are emergency contacts for the county water.system So if they have anything that goes wrong they are the ones that are called and have to come. Weekends or nights it doesn't matter. This doesn't happen very often, but this time it happened literally at the moment the game started. So they left and got back after half time. So disappointing, but luckily they were not out for a long time.

Can I just mention that my vote for BEST Super Bowl commercial was the Budweiser commercial with the horse and dalmatian. Loved it!! To watch the clip go to Super Bowl Commercials and it is listed in the 2nd Quarter commercials.

Weekend Update

I have to start out by saying that I so grateful for antibiotics. I finally feel normal!

Nick and I are still on our organization mission with the garage. Yesterday morning was spent putting insulation on one wall of the garage and today we finished clearing everything else out. The insulation went up really quickly and surprisingly easy. Next weekend we will completely finish the insulation and possibly start putting up the walls. Other than that we spent the rest of Saturday going to Anderson. We ate at Outback which had several items with gingerbread which sounded so good. They have a gingerbread milkshake that I wanted to so badly, but after eating I could not eat anything else. I hope to go back and get one! Then after buying stuff at Target we went home and watched Mr. Woodcock. Funny movie, but nothing spectacular.

Right now Nick and I are just relaxing. Nick is going to fix his famous Chicken Gumbo and watch the Super Bowl with his parents. FUN FUN! I love the commercials!
