The good news just keeps coming!

After my last rant about not getting the 4th grade job that I interviewed for, I feel quite ridiculous now, but doesn't it always seem to work out that way. The principal at my school told me that a 5th grade teacher is more than likely retiring and he would like to move me there. I, of course, was about to burst with joy. I am sooo excited, but still hesitating some till he tells me officially. The more I am with older students the more I seem to like them. Yes they have have attitudes, but I try to remember being that age and how confusing it can be. The lord listened to my MANY prayers about this!!

On another topic I have pictures of my new trees!

This is a Willow Oak. It is suppose to get pretty big so we planted only one and it is in the corner of our front yard. It doesn't look like much now.

This is a Weeping Cherry tree and my absolute favorite. It was a little pricey, but when I saw it I had to have it! I can only imagine how beautiful it will be when it gets bigger.

This is a Okame Flowering Cherry Tree. We planted three of these trees on the side of our house.
We planted two October Glory Maples in the front of our house and they already have blossoms!

I also bought these annuals to put in various places. I haven't found the time to plant them yet.

This bush is replacing some rosemary that we cut down.

Today I went to good ole Wal-Mart to buy some Spring candles. I usually buy Black Cherry, but I thought I would buy some that were in a spring blue color.
I got this new table runner on sale for $5.00!!
This was supper tonight. A healthy chicken salad. By the way, whenever I put food on here I am not the one that made it. That is my wonderful husband. He excites my tastes buds every night with something wonderful. I am so blessed!

Busy Weekend

Wow! What a busy weekend! Honestly I wouldn't have it any other way.

Friday: Nick and I went to AT&T to buy new phones! We bought Blackberry Curves. I love it so much! I can actually get on the internet which will be very helpful.
Saturday: We woke up bright and early to go to Home Depot. We have been wanting to plant trees in our yard since we built our house 3 1/2 years ago. Finally we did! We picked an awful day to finally do this. It started off okay then it started to sprinkle, but I told Nick we should keep going. The rain stopped for a little while. Then, as we were about to plant the second to last tree, the bottom fell out. It was pouring!! We quickly planted the last two and were soaked. Duncan had so much fun playing in the rain and mud. I have pictures, but they were taken with my new phone and I haven't quite figured it out yet. So maybe I will post them later.

Later that day we had a wedding to attend for one of Nick's childhood friends. The wedding was in a small church so it was packed. It was absolutely beautiful! Soon as we got back from the wedding Nick's relatives from Belgium were down for a visit. They are staying for a month and I am so excited because it has been 3 years since they have been here. There is never a dull moment with them around.
Nick and I before the wedding

After visiting for a few mins. we headed over to Michael and Amy's for a cookout. After eating some great food we played Rock Band. It is always fun hanging out with them! Love you guys!

Nikki and I (I am not sure why this is so blurry!)

Sunday: After church Nick and I headed to his parents to eat lunch. The food was great as always. Then we headed home for much needed relaxation. I am going to continue the relaxation now!!

Yesterday, to quite my surprise, there was a butterfly flying around my house. Talk about spring coming soon! I actually got a picture of it before it flew out the door.

This is the butterfly trying desperately to escape from the crazy woman with the camera!

I was trying to take a close up picture! This proves I need a better camera! Maybe my birthday?
Sunday while at my parents, she gave me this rocking chair. I just love it. It appears to be very old, which makes me love it even more. This corner in my living room was in desperate need of attention. Maybe this will suffice for now! I can just imagine rocking my baby to sleep one day! :)

Did you watch American Idol last night? Some were good and some not so much. David Cook was amazing as always. Brooke is still my favorite, but she seemed really nervous last night. Anyway I noticed on Kelly's blog she posted some of the songs she would sing from her birth year. I decided I would check mine out too. I just googled "Top songs from 1983" and look what I came up with. I have to say, I may have some of the best songs EVER!!!

1. Flash dance (What a feeling?)- Irene Cara
2. Down Under- Men at Work
3.Total Eclipse of the Heart- Bonnie Tyler
4. Sweet Dreams (Are made of This)- Eurythmics
5. Uptown Girl- Billy Joel
6. She works hard for the money- Donna Summer
7. Hungry Like the Wolf- Duran Duran
8. Electric Avenue- Eddy Grant
9. The Safety Dance- Men without Hats
10. Mr. Roboto- STYX
11. Love is a battlefield- Pat Benatar

What are the favorite from the year you were born?

Weekend Update

I hate that the weekends seem to fly by!

Saturday: I helped Carrie with the wedding that afternoon. Since we finished earlier than expected, Amy and I crashed "guys" night and joined them. I am sure they were not too disappointed.;) We ate at Wild Wings and came back to the house. The guys were watching a violent movie so Amy and I decided to call it an early night and went to bed.

Sunday: We had a jam packed service at church. The place was literally busting at the seams. In a church that is always a good thing. After church we went to the grocery store and back home for a few hours of relaxation. Then we headed to my parents for dinner and the annual Easter Egg Hunt for my nieces and nephews. I hope next year I will have my child and they will get to hunt Easter eggs. I have tons of pictures that I decided would be best fit for a digital scrapbook :)!

I have a few pictures taken during the week also. Enjoy!

Nick and I been looking for a humming bird feeder for the kitchen window. They are apparently very hard to find. Well look what the mother-in law found!!

Making the food for the humming birds.

All hung up!

Tulip growing already!

Digital Scrapbooking

I found this cute digital scrapbooking website from Jessica's blog. It is so easy! You get the basic edition for free or pay for the premium edition for $4.99 a month. It has tons on pages to pick from. I did this one on New Years just to try it out. I am sure I will have one for Easter later. Have fun!

Good Friday

What a GOOD Friday it was! I went and helped my co-teaching kindergarten class with their Easter Egg hunt. It was at Wakefield farms and the day was filled with great experiences for them. They got to see cows, horses, and sheep. They thought it was absolutely amazing. Then they got to play and run free in the fields. Afterward they went on the egg hunt. The parents hid the eggs in a field of tall grass, so it was actually a hunt. Just to see the joy on their faces while they were searching through the grass was great. Can you tell I love children? Anyway needless to say all that fun left me pretty tired.

Today I am helping Carrie with a wedding. She is directing the wedding and I am her willing assistant. Should be fun! Amy and Nikki are also helping. So while we are away Nick and Michael (Amy's husband) are going to Wild Wings to have some male bonding time. I hope they behave!;)

Have a great Saturday!

Dancing with the Stars- Women

I think we all know who the front runner is! Kristi Yamaguchi! She was amazing! She seemed like she had been dancing for years. No one else really stood out besides her. I hope someone does or this season could be boring. Yes I know this is a really weird picture, but abc's website was getting on my nerves.

Also Lost comes on tonight! I am so excited, but I know I will just be Lost the entire time.

Sorry I didn't mean to scare you with this picture. He has to be the creepiest man of television history!

Dancing with the Stars- MEN

I finally watched Dancing with the Stars (one of my many favorite shows) on TIVO! My favorites are Mario. He was amazing!!

Next favorite is Cristian da la Fuente! He does seem very arrogant which may hurt him, but he is decent.

Yes I changed it again! I love my header so much, so I decided to remove the background. I just thought it was too much and kinda hard to read. I like simple clean looking things. I may change my mind again, I am a girl!! Anyway have a great Tuesday.

March Madness

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

This morning at school the kindergarten students had a St. Patrick's Day parade. It was so cute! The kids could ride bikes, scooters, or skates. The students without those got an instrument to play as they went around in a circle. Just adorable!

Tonight the 4th and 5th graders are playing basketball against each other- hence the name March Madness. It should be fun! The event is a great fund raiser for the school and a great way to get parents in the building.

Also while Nick was busy cooking supper last night, I decided to create a little something of my own. This is not really a recipe, but it is still very tasty and easy.

Strawberry Lemonade
2 packs of Crystal Light Lemonade
1 container of Frozen Barcardi Strawberry Daquari

Add to gallon picture. Add water and mix well. Goes great with Chocolate Cake

Here is a picture of my Easter dress. I know it is not very spring like, but I thought it was cute. I also happened to have already that match perfectly!

Have a great Monday!!

Palm Sunday and Spring Fever

I have made some updates if you read this earlier!!

Saturday morning I cleaned, cleaned, and cleaned some more! I feel so much better! Here are a few pics.
I moved the dining room to table to clean underneath

This new green product is great! It works wonderfully without the nasty smell. I will be buying more of this.

Saturday was spent worrying about the weather. Tornadoes were popping up all over the place. We spent about an hour at Nick's parents basement. Luckily nothing major happened. After we just hung out and cooked a pizza. We also watched Reign Over Me. Such a great movie and it really makes you think about how lucky we all are. Adam Sandler was amazing in this serious role.

Before church this was what I walked into. So being the good blogger I am, I told them to freeze while I got my camera.:) Two peas in a pod.

Today at church we celebrated Palm Sunday. They had some wonderful music during the service. One guy played the violin and it was breath taking. I wish I had that kind of talent. Afterwards we went home to change and then headed to Anderson. We ate at Olive Garden, YUM YUM! Then we went to Ross and I found a cute Easter dress. No picture yet, but I will post one soon. I also found two very cute springy plates. I love Ross they have some of the cutest decorative things. Then we headed over to Bed Bath and Beyond. We found some steps for Duncan. He can not jump on our bed or the couch, so I hope that we can get him to start using them. Right now he is not so sure about them, but hopefully he will get use to them. This is him looking down at me like I am crazy! Hee Hee! Don't Nick's feet look huge?
Also at BB & B I bought some Spring placemats and napkin rings. I love them and at 1.99 a piece, I couldn't beat that! I already had the napkins.
Then lastly we headed to Lowes to look at plants and trees. I bought two beautiful ferns for the front porch. Have a great Sunday!

I sure have been posting a lot lately! I guess I just have a lot to say. Anyway since I was so proficient with my lesson plans and copies this week, I had extra time on my hands during my planning. I made myself a spring cleaning checklist on Excel! I know, I am a DORK, but I think it will help so much. I plan to keep it use it periodically. I don't think I can put the actual spreadsheet on here, but this is what I copied from it. I am sure I have left off some things, but this is what came off the top of my head. Spring Cleaning

After checking the weather constantly, hoping I was wrong about it raining this Saturday, I finally had to change my plans. I had planned on spending the day cleaning flower beds and planting new plants, but they may have to wait till Sunday. So instead I am going clean, clean, and clean some more. Not just an ordinary cleaning, but one of those deep cleanings that makes you want to smile when you are finished. Okay I know I am not alone here! I plan on moving furniture to clean underneath, clean all windows, organize shelves, and get rid of junk that seems to be taking over my house. I am sadly excited about this becuase I love a clean house. This will be the true meaning of clean.

What is my plan?

I was optimistic going into today. I guess I should back up first and explain. I am currently teaching special education. I did not go to school to teach special education, but at the school I attended it was a requirement with the early childhood degree. Anyway since the first and only job available at the county I live in was special education, I jumped on the opportunity. I have loved my job and have learned so much about teaching. I love every student I have like they are my own and wouldn't change the time I have had. This being my third year I am ready for a regular classroom. I feel more prepared at this time in my career. So when a 4th grade job became available I talked with the principal about moving. He said he would interview me, but he liked me where I was and it would be hard to replace me. Well that is all nice, but didn't change my mind. I interviewed and waited for about a month with no word. Well this morning he finally told me the job was given to someone else and he would consider me if something else came up. I am beyond frustrated and there is a lot more to this story then I will say on here. I am only saying this on here because I need to vent. I know God has a plan that is greater than me and maybe there is something better around the corner. This is the only thing keeping me from losing it. After the talk with him this morning, I just felt sick to my stomach and doubted myself. Did he not think I was good enough? Am I not doing something I should? What did she have that I didn't? I know I have to stop beating myself up, but I just so frustrated.

Picture Challenge

I found this challenge on Carrie's blog and thought why not? Heres the deal: You are suppose to take five pictures around your house that describe you.

This first picture shows how I love to take pictures and the frames they go into. These happen to be all old pictures that are in my extra junk room, but you get the idea.

On the same book shelf in my junk room are my crafty things. They are VERY disorganized right now becuase I am patiently waiting on the garage to be finished so I can create my crafty corner. I love creating things and hope I can do more when I have my room complete.Next we have my furbaby Duncan. I had to take this because he was following me around the house as I was taking the other pictures. He was being so patient! I love him so unconditionally!
Next up are my magazines! I have tons of subscriptions. It is almost ridiculous. I have subscriptions to Good Housekeeping, O magazine, Real Simple, Glamour, Self, Marie Claire, and Martha Stewart.

Here is my must have item: TIVO!! I record tons of shows and it so convient to watch them when I have the time. Especially since I usually fall a sleep around 9 on week nights.
I know this challenge only said five, but I had to take this one becuase it might just be my faovrite thing about my house and describes me so well. This is the view from my balcony and this view is 360 degrees around my home. I see no other house or person around me. I love the serenity!! I will never move.
Now it is your turn. Have FUN!
