After being late this month (which I NEVER am) I knew something was up. So on day three of waiting I bought three pregnancy tests. I took the first one at home by myself and when the results were immediate I cried. I was the happiest person in the world at that moment. I thanked God and sat in the bathroom floor and wept. Duncan of course was in my lap licking me the entire time (I had a feeling he knew it was good news). Then I took another tests just to make sure. It was positive also. I then called my mom and told her I was coming over to see her. I didn't tell Nick first because I wanted to wait to tell him in person. I had bought three onsies months ago (one for my parents, one for Nick ,and one for his parents). I put my moms in a gift bag and told her I bought something for her. As she opened she began to cry and hugged me. I was so happy that she was happy! This will be their fifth grandchild so they are prepared and ready. That night when I got back from vacation bible school I handed Nick a Wal-mart bag. I said "Look what I got today!" I am sure he was thinking "what has she bought now?" So he opened it and the onsie and pregnancy test were inside. He was so happy and excited!! On the Saturday before Father's Day we brought Nick's dad a "Father's day" gift. Unlike my parents they had no idea we have been trying since January. This being their first grandchild, we wanted it to be a complete surprise. When his dad opened it he was shocked! They both were so happy and have been waiting patiently for this moment for so long. Needless to say we are all so happy and thankful.
I went to the doctor today for my first appointment. They did the usual blood work, exam, and went over medical history. He says I am due around February 17th. I go back July 14th for an ultrasound to confirm the due date.
I just want to add that I am still praying for all the women that are still trying. I pray that they have patience. I know how it feels to want something immediately when you want, but God has his own path for us. Sometimes we just have to listen and be patient! Please continue to keep me and the little one in your prayers for a healthy pregnancy and birth.

1. What was I doing 10 years ago?

Wow lets see... First I would pay for my house, my parents, and my sisters. Then I would move us all to the beach somewhere. I would adopt and have loads of kids. I would give to charities for the natural disasters that have occurred lately.
5. Five jobs that I've had
Well...I haven't really had too many jobs. I babysit kids every summer from the age of 13-15. When I was 17 I worked at the YMCA as a sitter. Luckily I did not have to work through college. I have been working as a teacher at an Elem. School for going on four years.

Now the hard part I have to give this award to 5 other bloggers it was very hard because I love all the blogs I stalk well here goes:
My first award goes to my very good friend Amy! She such a sweet girl and is always there for me.
My third award goes to Kelly at Kelly's Korner. I don't personally know her, but I LOVE to read her blog. If we lived close I know we would be great f riends.
My fourth award goes to Meg. We went to Elementary through High School together. I love reading her blog. She is so honest and speaks from her heart.
Friday: I kept Brett, Nikki's son, for a few hours. I summoned Brinsley and Noah to help with entertainment for the afternoon. We had so much fun! We made foam door hangers and Brett made a foam sun visor. This was the perfect project for him because it required no glue or scissors!
This was a great helper Brinsley!
Nick, Johnny, and Noah went to see The Happening. Unfortunately for them their movie was not so good.
After the movie Amy and Michael met up with us and we all headed to Wild Wings. We had so great food and got to sit outside and enjoy the breeze!
Sunday: We went to the 9:00 service and church so we could bet the crowds and Outback. We took Nick mom and dad there for Father's Day. They were really busy, but we got there right before the crowd. My steak and sweet potato was delicious! Then we headed across the street to see Indiana Jones Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The movie was full of nonstop action.
After the movie we headed home and then immediately to my parents. It was great to get to relax and hang out with everyone for a few hours. We had a great Father's Day weekend. My dad is an amazing man that has always been there for me WHENEVER I needed him. Looking back over the years, I should have said thank you more often. He would do anything in the world for me and I will be forever grateful! I love you daddy!

Nick and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary last Wednesday. We decided this year we would get each other something we needed. I knew exactly what Nick "needed." He had been asking for this since Christmas.
A remote! Not just any ole' remote, but a touch screen remote that does everything we need. With one touch this amazing remote will start the tv, dvd player, and tuner so you are ready to watch a movie. Amazing! You would have thought I bought it for myself! Shh....
Look what I "needed" so desperately! Major bling going on here!! LOVE IT!
Saturday we went to Sullivan's to eat a very yummy and romantic dinner. I think Nick had to roll me out to the car. We worked outside in the 100 degree weather all day so we were starving!
Look what we got in the mail for Nick's cousins in Belgium! Kitchen towels, Irish coffee glasses, and chocolate. Simone sent us the glasses because she taught Nick how to make Irish coffee while she was visiting. I can't wait to make this!
Also look who stayed the weekend with us! SADIE!! This is Carrie's dog and Duncan's best friend. We had such a good time and it was hard to say good bye!
I made this from Paula Deen!
Brown Sugar Chewies
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup chopped pecans
Confectioners' sugar, for dusting. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray an 8-inch square pan with vegetable oil cooking spray.
In a small saucepan, melt the butter. Turn off the heat, add the brown sugar and stir until smooth. Stir in the egg. Stir together the flour and baking powder and stir into the brown sugar mixture. Stir in the vanilla and pecans. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20 minutes. When cool, dust the top with a sifting of confectioners' sugar.
Next time I will add chocolate chips, but they were so easy and yummy!!

Yes after being with Nick for 12 years and married for almost 3, my love grows every minute I am with him. Tomorrow is our 3 year anniversary and it seems like yesterday I met him, at a very young age, and fell head over heels. If you would have asked me then I probably would have told you I was going to marry him. I guess I girl just knows! In order to not bore you, I will keep this short. I do want to say that Nick has not made me who I am, but has helped and sometimes pushed me along the way. He never once let me settle for anything less than my full potential. When I thought I would be terrified to enter high school he was there to walk me through the doors. When I was learning to drive he, without fear, jumped in the car and showed me the way. When I applied for colleges he helped me with applications and celebrated my acceptance. He helped me move countless number of times. Even today he never ceases to amaze me. I am lucky and truly believe and am grateful for that. He has been a constant in my life and I never want to take that for granted. If you are reading this I LOVE YOU!!

This is Duncan in his costume! The glasses would not stay on, but they still look cute!
After the dog show we got a little rest and then headed to Lowes and Sam's. We needed some much needed storage for the garage overhaul. I can finally say, after months of working on this project, we will be finished next weekend! I have some pictures of the storage, but we are not quite finished, so be on the lookout for the finished product.
