We are not in Kansas anymore....

Today we were under a tornado watch almost the whole day. Then around 2:15 it was announced on the intercom that we were under a tornado warning and we needed to proceed into the hall immediately. The fact that I had been teaching all day, I never had a chance to look at the weather or even out the window. The kids and I were pretty surprised by this announcement. The kids had to sit in the very uncomfortable position for about 30 mins. Bless their hearts! I felt so bad! Needless to say everything turned out okay and all the kids got to leave to go home on time. It was scary, but thankfully we are all safe!

Baby News

Today I am 15 weeks and I can't believe how time flies! I went to the doctor today for usual check up. The babies heartbeat was really easy to find this time and it was 154 bpm. He sound it sounded perfect, of course it does ;)!! The genetic testing that I thought I was going to have was apparently a mistake. I am not sure why I was told that, but whatever. I also schedule my BIG ultrasound (the one that tells the sex of the baby) for Sept. 22!! I can not wait! That is all for now...

Wow it has been so long! There are just not enough hours in the day. Things at school have slowed down some, so maybe I will have more time to update. I just updated the baby's website so I am going to also put that on here:

August 11th, 2008 I had another doctor's visit and I got to hear the baby's heartbeat! I have to admit that the process was a little scary. I was by myself (me and the doctor) and it seemed to take forever for him to find the heartbeat. It really wasn't that long, but at the time it seemed like an eternity. When he finally found the heartbeat it was such a relief. The heartbeat has changed from in the 170's to the 150's, which the doctor said is completely normal. When the baby grows the heartbeat is suppose to slow done some. On 8/25/08 I have another appointment for genetic disorder testing. This is something my doctor does for everyone. The idea is scary, but knowing in advance would make myself and the doctor more prepared. So pray for good results! Then 4 weeks from the 25th we have the BIG ultrasound!! I cannot wait!!!! I have stopped myself from buying anything until I know. I honestly don't even know how I have done this so far. Well more news later...

So other than hearing my baby's heartbeat, which was AMAZING, I have been teaching up a storm. I am reminded daily why I love teaching and why I want a child so bad. I was talking to parents the other night at our Curriculum night. They were asking me about 5th grade "graduation" and several began to tear up of the thought of their baby growing up. I can only imagine what the feeling will be like.

I have also just finished reading this: This was the BEST book that I have read in a while. There are 4 more books in the series and today I am going to buy all four! There is a movie coming out in October that is based on the first book. I haven't been this excited about reading in so long. I read the book every free second I had. I have even convinced Nick to read the book now. Yes the book is about vampires, but it really is so much more. I have never been into fantasy books, but this is just so good. Okay I will stop talking about the book :)!

Nick and I have been working every weekend to prepare for the baby. I feel like we haven't made that much progress, but we will get there. We are trying to finish all the little projects around the house before we begin on the baby's room. I am so anxious to get started!

Also as many of you already know I have a very close friend that has lived with a brain tumor for about half of his life. He had another surgery a couple of weeks ago and he is still in the hospital and will be there for a while. He is going through one struggle and set back after another and I just want to ask for your prayers!

Busy teacher...

As some of you know the school started early where I teach (Aug. 1st), so I have been VERY busy. I usually get to the school at 7 and leaving around 5:30-6:00. Needless to say I am exhausted, but the good part is I love what I am doing. I stay late because I want my students to have the best. I am seeing 85 students a day for math, so the paperwork alone can be daunting. I am trying to keep up with everything else in my life. Like I said I am TRYING! This blog has been pushed way to the back and it may for awhile. I will try to write when I can. I am also WAY behind on reading blogs, so I apologize if you do not see comments from me. So enough apologizing! I am now 12 weeks and feeling pretty good. I am, as usual, really tired. I hope this lets up soon, real soon. I have also been having backaches, but I think that is more from standing from 7- 3:30 everyday. Really I stand almost the entire time! Also I want to add that I have the BEST students in the entire school. I love each one of them already! Bye for now...
