I have been boo-ed by Carrie and if you are here because I boo-ed you just follow the directions below. Have fun! Now, this is how the Blogging Boo will work. Go to as many friends as you want and tell them they've been "Boo-ed". Have them link back to your blog to pick up their Halloween Treat (picture) and tell them to "Boo" their friends. Then, put the picture in your side bar so everyone knows that you've already been "Boo-ed" and to send the pic to someone else. So, are you scared yet!!?? BOO!! Thanks Carrie!

What a week!

Sorry about my lack of blogging. There have been some unexpected things going on with a close family friend and co-worker's son. I will not go into detail, but they have lost an amazing person through some tragic circumstances and we have all been really upset about this. Myself and many other teachers attended the funeral today and it was a great service, but so terribly sad. The man that passed was also an alternative school teacher and all the students he taught were in attendance. Such a sad sight to see all those children crying and upset. Please keep this family and our community in your thoughts and prayers.

Hearty Hosta

Thank you for all your input! After the colors dried and I got to see them in the daylight, the choice was made. Hearty Hosta(color on the right) it is! I can't wait to see the room when it is painted, which unfortunately will not be for another week. I am glad I choose green because I think it will be bright and cheerful and a little different than the normal blue.

Tomorrow at school we are having a Vocabulary Parade. Basically the students have a vocabulary word and they will walk down a red carpet, say their word, definition, use the word in a sentence, and wear something that describes the word. For example one student has the word Blizzard so he is going to hold shredded up paper and throw it up in the air like snow. Cute right? The teachers are also getting in on the fun. Three teachers and myself are going as Quartet. We are going to dress alike and sing a little song. It should be funny! I will try to remember to get a picture! Have a great HUMP day! The week is almost over!

Drum Roll....

Well the pictures did not turn out that well, but here are the paint colors.

Color on the left is called Grassy Meadow and on the right is Hearty Hosta. I like the one on the left and Nick likes the one on the right. Hmmm decisions decisions...

This is what the room looks like right now. The old carpet was pulled up and we are putting down a light bamboo hardwood flooring. We are going to paint first. The walls also have a primer on them to cover up the color that was on the walls before.

This is my 23 week picture. This was before bed, so sorry for the doughnut VS pj's! My stomach seems to going completely straight out. How far can it go!? :) I just keep hearing "Oh just wait till you are 8 months!" " You will be miserable!" Okay people thanks for the warning! I really needed that!

23 weeks

Wow I can't believe I am 23 weeks today! Sorry I have no picture because I keep forgetting! Maybe soon. Today I had my monthly doctor's appointment. Everything looked great! The nurse also gave me a flu shot for me and the baby. I would hate to be pregnant and have the flu. Also when the doctor was listening at the heartbeat you could hear the baby kicking. So amazing! The baby kicks all the time and I LOVE it. My next appointment will be a little more involved. I have the RH negative shot because I am A negative and the glucose screening. I already have the yummy juice to drink. I hope I don't lose it in a month or accidentally throw it out!

At 23 weeks the baby is now over a pound in weight and 11 inches long! That is just the craziest thing ever! I can't believe I have a baby the size of a large mango inside of me. Tonight we are going to test out two different green paint colors for the nursery. Stay tuned for the results!!

What's in a name?

Thank you so much for all the middle name suggestions!! We have still not decided on a name, but with all the options it helps so much. Thank you all! This weekend is going to be a busy weekend for Nick and I. We have a friend from Michigan coming to stay the weekend and also Nick's brother is coming home to visit the same weekend. On top of that I have a wedding reception to attend on Saturday. I doubt anything in the nursery will get accomplished, but that is okay because I am so excited about these visitors!

Also at school we are all awaiting our dreaded observations! I know that it will be fine, but if you are a teacher you know how dreadful this time is! Wish me LUCK!

Hard Headed

Apparently I am hard headed. After being told, by several people, not to stay on my feet ALL day, I did it anyway. I am now paying for it! My feet started swelling today and it is so uncomfortable. I am really at a loss on how I am suppose to teach effectively and not stand! Any suggestions? I really do sit every chance I have, but those chances sometimes only come every 2-3 hours and only for a few mins at a time. Does anyone know of any remedies that may help? I will have another doctors apt. next Monday, so I will ask him then.

Anywho... I had a relaxing weekend. Friday after working to about 5:30 we met up with Amy and Michael to eat Mexican, and then went home and crashed! Saturday I worked on lesson plans most of the morning and did some laundry. Nick got the chair railing trim and painted it white. We watched the Georgia game and of course they WON!!! GO DAWGS!! We then picked up barbecue for supper and just chilled at home. Sunday we went to Anderson to check out the new KOHLS!!! The maternity section was literally a very small corner in the store, but I did find two sweaters for the winter. We then ate at Chili's and headed home to wash our cars. They have been so negelected lately and were in desperate need of a good wash. We spent the rest of the day being lazy which is always nice! I hope you had a great weekend also!!

I STILL need suggestions for middle names for Andrew. A student today suggested Conner, which I actually kinda of like. What do you think?

Kung Fu Fighting

I believe that is what is going on inside my stomach!! I am 21 weeks and just started feeling consistent obvious kicks. Sometimes, like RIGHT now, I feel major kicking. Nick has not been able to feel it yet, which I hope changes soon. It seems like every time I put my hand on my stomach the baby stops kicking. Anyone else experiencing this?

Nick picked up the hardwood yesterday for the nursery. We (I mean Nick) will start painting trim today. I am getting really anxious to get things done, even though I know I have plenty of time. I am glad that we are at this stage because this is the fun part!

We are also thinking of names. This has been the hardest decision to make. Right now we are thinking of Andrew for a first name. I am stuck on a middle name. Any suggestions?

Well I am off to get out of my PJ's and start the day! Have a great weekend!!

Blog Award and other NEWS!!

I received this award from Kim and Amy!! Thanks so much girls!!
The Kreative Blogger Award requires that you list 6 things that make you happy and pass it on to 6 other bloggers.

Six things that make me happy:
1) I have to start off by saying being pregnant. Yes things are not always pleasant or comfortable, but I love knowing that I am creating a life and keeping it safe.
2) My husband! Amazing, always there for me, makes me laugh everyday, loves my unconditionally, and will do ANYTHING for me!! I LOVE HIM!!!
3) Going to work! Yes I teaching can be a very overwhelming job, but at the end of the day and all those wonderful moments in between, I know what I am doing makes a difference.
4) Duncan (my dog)! He is a huge part of my life. When I am at home is always near by and he just makes me smile!
5) Books! I have always love to read and I love being able to escape.
6) Family! Last but NOT least! I love my family and everything they do for me!

I am giving this award to:
Since everyone that I would send it to has already gotten this, I am not passing the award on :)!

Other News:
Nick and I have had this looming problem that has been hanging over our heads since we have found out I was pregnant. Who is going to keep the baby when I go back to work? I am only getting about 6-7 weeks off, so the thought of leaving the baby with a stranger was weighing down on me. We finally got the answer to our prayers Sunday!! We have been wanting Nick's mom to ask us about watching him, but we wanted it be her idea. I just would feel better if I knew it was something she WANTED to do. Well Sunday she came by our house and asked if she could watch the baby for the two months that will be left of school and then see how it goes. Well I, of course, said YES!!! I know she will do a wonderful job, but she is a little nervous since it has been so long since she has had to take care of a baby. Anyway I am so happy the lord has answered my prayer!! I can now go back to work and know my baby is safe and loved!

I have also had some questions about how I am feeling. Well you always hear about the 2nd trimester being this wonderful time. I have to say in the last two weeks I have felt pretty wonderful! I am not near as tired or having the incredible back pain that I was having. The part that has changed is sleeping at night. I have a body pillow and without it I would get NO sleep. I basically have to switch the side I am sleeping on constantly. Of course I am getting up to use the bathroom about every 2-3 hours. So other than sleeping I am doing great! I am getting bigger by the day!! Maybe I will get some pictures this weekend of the growing belly. Have a great Tuesday!

P.S. We decided to put up a chair rail in the nursery. We are going to paint the bottom khaki and the top half green. Thank you all for your suggestions!!
