37 weeks

Thanks for voting on the Easter Baskets!! I am going to go with number 3. It is kinda of the way I was leaning anyway and you just helped confirm that, so thanks! I went to the doctor today and everything was good. The heartbeat was 150 bpm and I am measuring where I should be. He doesn't think the baby has dropped and I agree. My breathing is not getting any easier. I go back next Monday so maybe something will be happening then. I am getting so impatient. He said I am full term so whenever he wants to come we are ready. Did anyone hear about the lady who had eight babies at ONE TIME? WHAT? Here is what I read online:

The mother gave birth to six boys and two girls weighing between 1 pound, 8 ounces, and 3 pounds, 4 ounces, doctors at Kaiser Permanente Bellflower Medical Center said. The hospital had scheduled a Caesarean section for seven babies, but doctors were surprised when an eighth came out at 10:48 a.m.

I need your help! Which Easter basket should I get for Andrew? I know he will only be a few months, but I plan on him using it for a few years. So what do you think?

Work Shower

UPDATE: If you read this earlier I have added a picture at the bottom.

Thursday the 5th grade teachers threw me a wonderful baby shower. Everyone has been so excited for me at school. I love everyone I work with and this shower was great!
We got a few more clothes, lots of diapers and wipes, toys, bottles, and gift cards!

My mom was able to come!

I bought a program called Creative Memories from a teacher at school and you can use it to make cards, scrapbook pages, or just pictures. I played around with it today. Technically I am 36 1/2 but I just put 37 weeks.

My counter says I have only 24 more days!! The last couple of weeks, honestly, have been miserable. I knew I was going to hit this stage in pregnancy but I never thought it would be this uncomfortable. I am so ready for Andrew to come! As of Monday I will be considered full-term, so as far as I am concerned he can come now! I am having back, hip, leg, and pelvic pain like I have never felt. I also am waking up every hour or two to use the bathroom and then not able to go back to sleep. I am really going to try to work as long as possible, but I am not sure how much longer that will be. Pray I will be able to hold out a few more weeks!

We are going to finish all shopping today. We are buying a swing, high chair and a few other things. I hope I can make it walking around. This may be a short trip.

Inauguration 2009

Well we did not have snow, but I did get to watch the Presidential Inauguration with my classes. We planned the day around presidential lessons and had the news on all day in the background. From 11:30-12:30 we sat and watched history take place. No matter what your views are or who you voted for, it is great to witness such a moment in history. The kids were so into the whole day. In my math classes we graphed the ages of the last 15 presidents age at their inauguration. I can't believe how much the kids know about Obama. They probably couldn't tell one thing about Bush, but ask them about Obama and they can tell you his life history. So I hope that Obama is able to accomplish everything he is setting out to. I hope he lives up to everyone's expectations!!

I am 36 weeks now and there was nothing new at my docotor's apt. I start going every week now, so that should be fun!

Anticipation of Andrew

WARNING!! Lots of pictures of baby things!!

I had a wonderful shower Sunday. It was hosted by my mom and sisters Carrie and Christy. The theme was rubber ducks and storybooks. I got some really great books, clothes, and blankets. I also got to see some people I have not seen in a while so that was great!
Align Center

Carrie made this adorable diaper cake!

This is all the wonderful food!

Apparently when I took the picture they decided to eat something! HA!
I got this at Wal-Mart today.

It is already full!

I have just a few more things to go through (the basket beside the dresser)

The crib

We finally got the dresser!

This is really dark but as you can see we still need to find curtains.

It was a last minute decision to put this rocker chair in here. I had room and it will probably on be temporary when other bigger toys enter the room.
THis is the top of the hutch we finally got in!! I got the books at the shower Saturday. The baskets on the right are full of toys (already?) Carrie made the cute this on top.

I got the changing table pad today and to the right is a wipe warmer (a must have I have heard), and a digital picture frame that uncle Eric gave us. The picture frame was made by Amy, the blocks were given by Grandma Beele, and the frog is from one of my students.

All of his coats and the trash can is my favorite find!

I love this rug

Duncan had to get in one picture.

The pack-and-play is finally in the room and ready!

We are kinda of packed, HA!

This is everything that is going in the car very soon.
I got this at Wal-mart today! I have two gowns for the hospital already but I couldn't pass this up. Andrew could very well be born on or around Valentine's day and this would be perfect!

I finally am getting around to sterilizing bottles and pacifiers.

Here they are all clean!

As you can tell we cannot wait for Andrew to arrive!!! We of course have lots more to do, but we have made such strides to get a lot done lately. By the way they are calling for snow tonight and in the morning. Probably just a dusting, but maybe enough for them to call off school!! MAYBE!!

Please Pray

If you read Kelley's Korner you know that Kelley had little Harper last night and she is not doing well. Please say a pray for her and a speedy recovery.

I have to admit that this is scary the crap out of me! This isn't the first person's blog that I have read that had a completely normal pregnancy and then something went wrong after the baby was delivered. With my due date drawing near things like this keep going through my mind. I just pray that everything is okay and that Andrew will be okay.

Waiting...

We are still waiting on the other dresser and hutch, that goes with the existing dresser, to put in Andrew's room. I am so tired of not being able to put of of his stuff away. Everything is just sitting in the floor. I was hoping it would come this weekend before I had two more showers! I was also hoping to put stuff away on Monday when I am off work. Well not going to happen. We got a call that it will probably be in next weekend! So frustrated! We ordered this in at the beginning of November! Okay I am done venting!

I do have two great showers coming up! My sisters and mom are throwing one for me this Sunday. I can't wait! I know it will be great! I have my shower at school next Thursday. I feel so blessed to have so many people wanting to celebrate Andrew's birth. Can't wait!

Update!! Can you believe right after I wrote this Nick walks in the door and said the furniture came in today!!!! We are going to pick it up Saturday!!! YAY praise the LORD!

Sunday

I have to start out by saying thanks to everyone who commented on my header!! Thanks so much! Also I am so glad to know I am not the only one stressed out about breast feeding.

Okay back to Sunday. Sunday started off with going to church and hearing a great sermon. Then Nick and I ate lunch and went to the grocery store. When we got home Nick and I were both in the mood to bake. I baked cupcakes (from a box) for my wonderful kids at school. Nick (being the over achiever he is :)) decided to try a cake recipe from Bon Apetit magazine. He made Chocolate Cake with Milk Chocolate peanut butter frosting and peanut butter brittle. If you are feeling adventurous click on the link. The cake was as good as it sounds. Delicious!! It took him about 2 hours to make, but it was so worth it. Take a look at the pictures!

We also put together the stroller and pack-and play. When the Pack and Play was finally put together we realized it did not fit through our bedroom door! WHAT? I plan on having the baby sleep in our room for the first few months. Now we are going to have to take some of it apart to get it through the door.

Duncan loved the stroller. Really he does. I rolled him around the living room and he just sat an looked around.

Saturday

Saturday Nick and I headed to Target to finally get our stroller/car seat combo and pack and play! They only had one of each so we were very lucky. I also picked up some nursing bras and tanks and a few essentials for the hospital. I think we are finally getting there! We also stopped by Books- a- Million and picked up a book that goes into detail about what to expect the first year of a babies life and a book on breastfeeding. The breastfeeding part is stressing me out some so I hope it helps. After shopping we met Amy and Michael at the theater and watched Gran Torino. It was such a good movie. I NEVER thought I would like this movie. I am not the biggest fan of Clint Eastwood, but really you need to give it a chance. We then headed to Outback and of course that was yummy. I really enjoyed our Saturday and I know soon we will not be able to just jump in the car to meet friends for a movie and dinner. Hopefully I can get in one more movie before little Andrew decides to join us.

By the way do you like my header? I was just playing around and came up with it using Picnik (google it). It is pretty plain becuase I know I am going to change it soon when the baby comes so it is only temporary.

34 weeks

I went to the doctor today, again. Ha! I feel like I go all the time and soon it will be even more often. Anyway little Andrew's heart rate is 135 and I am measuring 33 weeks which is right on because technically I just turned 34 weeks yesterday. My due date is still really close to be the same the entire pregnancy. They also did the strep B test. It was very quick which I was very happy about. :) I am so grateful that I have had a wonderful healthy normal pregnancy and I try to never forget that.

I had a shower hosted by some wonderful women from Nick's parents church. We got money, gift cards, and some wonderful gifts. We now have enough money to get the stroller/car seat combo and most of the pack and play!! Yay! We feel so fortunate to have such wonderful people who love us and are helping us welcome Andrew into the world.

School started back today and I was so happy to get to see the 5th graders again. I really have missed them!! What a great day!!

Not Me Mondays

I went back to work today so this should be good...

1.) I did not completely blank out and not listen to 2 out of 4 meetings we had.

2.) I did not go the bathroom a million times only to realize, more than once, I didn't really need to go. I guess the fact that someone was pushing my bladder didn't help.

3.) I did not have, at least, 20 people ask me how I was feeling today. They were all very sweet!

4.) I did not have, at least, 20 people touch my stomach today. No I really don't mind!

5.) I did not work my tail off today!!

Hope your Monday was as good as mine!

Growing

We are growing out of so many things in our house. I of course am growing out of clothes, even maternity clothes! YIKES! We are also filled to the brim in every room of our small house. I am trying to quickly work on decluttering and organizing before Andrew arrives. Nick and I bought a storage cabinet for our bathroom. Storage in our bathroom was pretty non-existent. We knew it had to change when we had to add a baby bath tub, bath items, wash clothes, robes, and blankets. We bought this at Lowes and Nick put it together last night. I am so excited about all the new storage!!

Can you believe that stack on the front is baby wash clothes! He will be very clean!

After going through all my "stuff," I realize I have too much "stuff!!"

We have so much storage now!!

I got this at Hobby Lobby! I got the Vera Bradley diaper bag for Christmas and I love it! I have two other bags that I also cannot wait to use. I am sure I will get use from all of them. Nick's grandmother got Andrew the "snow suit." It will be very warm!

I also got this cross from Hobby Lobby. I will put a picture of Andrew on the other side of this frame.

33 1/2 weeks: 2 more days till I go back to work! So sad!
