New Header!

Finally I spent the time today to make a new header. I will probably change the pictures soon, but the over all look will stay for while. What do you think? About the pictures this weekend: We went to have new directory pictures for the church made and they also did some pictures of Andrew. Well since I have not had any professional pictures made yet of course I bought some! They are not the most creative, but they will do for now. I am going to have better pictures taken when he can sit up. I should have the pictures back in a few weeks. Have a great week!!

So very tired...

That is how I feel about this week so far and it is only Tuesday!! We are finally finished with the CRCT and we are all so relieved! Now we can go back to normal. I miss actually teaching and I can't wait for our normal schedule to start again. Anyway we had a great weekend. We spent some much needed alone time as a family and grilled out at home Saturday. We went to my parents on Sunday and enjoyed a wonderful meal. Thanks mom!! Also Sunday Andrew had his first visit at the church nursery. I felt really weird about the whole experience, but at the end I think it was okay. That is about all for now. Have a great week!

P.S. Here are some pics of little Andrew from last week and this weekend. He is starting to discover his feet and that is what he tries to do most of the time when he is awake. It is so funny!

This was one morning before I went to work

That same morning (he is so smiley in the mornings)
IN his stroller, which he LOVES!!
This was before we had pictures made Saturday ( I will post about that tomorrow)

2 month check-up

Thank you all for your kind words. Andrew did cry ( and I almost did too) , but he was quickly comforted and was fine. He now weighs 10 lbs 13 ozs. and is 22 1/2 inches long! I had to pack up all of Andrew's newborn clothes the other day. How sad!?

At school we are taking the dreaded CRCT and 5th graders have to pass the reading and math. Being the math teacher for the whole fifth grade can be overwhelming! Please say a prayer that the kids will do well. They have math tomorrow!!

Sunday

We had a great Sunday! We did not make it to church because we a little fussy this morning. Since he is hardly ever fussy we thought he wasn't feeling well. A few gas drops later, he was back to his happy self. I feel like we spend the whole Sunday trying to get prepared for the week. We had lots of laundry, baths for Duncan and Andrew, my outfits picked out for the week, and the house spotless. Here are some pictures from the day!

He grabbed the camera cord while I was taking pictures
My two babies

An attempt of him napping in his crib. He is not a fan!

Pray for Andrew ( and me tomorrow!) he is going for his 2 months shots!!

2 Months

1 month

2 months

Wow! Has it really been too months since this wonderful boy entered, and completely changed, our lives!? He has changed so much over the last 2 months.
Here are some stats:
He has his 2 month check-up Monday so I will post weight and length then.
He is taking 4 ounces every 3 to 4 hours
He is sleeping from about 8 pm to 5 am!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes you read right! For the last two nights he has slept ALL night!!!!!!!!!!
He is holding his head up more and longer
He follows people with his eyes
He LOVES his Nap Nanny (the blue thing)
He is moving a lot more and loves to kick his blanket off every time I put it on him
He loves his paci and is beginning to play with his hair or ear when falling asleep
He is smiling and cooing like crazy
He has been to several restaurants, church every Sunday since he was 3 weeks old, the mall, several clothing stores, and grocery store.
He loves going outside in his stroller to help in the yard
He rarely cries. Only when he is really tired or really hungry
He is the BEST baby in the world! (ok I just had to add that!)

I thought this picture was so funny! He is giving his pouty look! HA!
This video is of Andrew playing with a rattle
This is a few evening ago. Nick was playing with Andrew and you can really hear how vocal he is becoming. I love it! I plan on taking more videos, so stay tuned!

MIA

I have been MIA because I, unfortunately, had to go back to work! Honestly it hasn't been too bad. I am so busy during the day, so that keeps my mind off of who I am missing. Of course it is not easy by NO means, but I am doing okay.

This basket was made by a guy that works for Nick. I am amazed by the talent! The bunny was given by my mother. SO cute!

This book was given by Nick's mom.

We had a great Easter and Andrew got lots of goodies from his grandparents. We decided since he was only 7 weeks old we would not play Easter bunny this year, but trust me he will be visiting the house next year! I can't wait for that. Here are some pictures we took before church. Is he not the cutest?
Later that day we went to Nick's parents for lunch and then to my parents for supper and the annual Easter Egg Hunt. Next year Andrew will be hunting eggs. This year he just watched!

The hunters
All the grand kids

Nick took this yesterday. Could you say multitasker!!? He even tried to hand me an X-Box controller and asked if I wanted to play a game with him too!

Happy Birthday Nick!!

Today is Nick's birthday! He is 29 so he will be celebrating the last year in his 20's. We sent daddy this on his phone this morning. I wanted to tell everyone were they can get one of those blue things. Just go here! I wish they made adults one too! Just a warning it took a week to get it and I paid for 2 day shipping, so I guess they are pretty popular. Also he has been sleeping in it at night right beside me and it is so convenient. I can lean over and calm him down, pick him up, or put the paci back in. So wonderful! I, of course, don't plan on him sleeping at night in this forever. Just right now while he is still getting up twice a night. He gets up at exactly 12:30 and 3:30 and it doesn't matter when he goes to sleep. Crazy!

Also I am working on a new header so that is why it does not match the background!

What is that blue thing?

No not this!

But this!

I know that is the questions that kept you up all night, so for you to be able to sleep tonight I will tell you! HA! That is the Nap Nanny and my new best friend! If you ever read parenting magazines then you have probably seen it. It was a little pricey, but I am telling you it was so worth the money. Andrew will only nap for a short time in his crib and in this he will sleep for hours. I can lay him in it when he is just drowsy and he is out like a light. It is made out of foam so it is really soft and the raised sides help him feel close and secure. So that is what the blue thing is!

Also since it is Wednesday and some of you may need a little laugh to get through the rest of the week, here are some funny faces for you!

Sprucing up my Nest

This weekend was filled as always, but I love it that way. Our yard was in desperate need of help. When I say desperate, I mean it has not been touched since middle of last summer. Weeds were bigger than the plants and some weeds had taken over and almost killed some plants (really!). So needless to say we spent a lot of time in the flower beds this weekend. I really wish I would have taken before shots, but I didn't even take after shots, so there you go. I am going to take pictures, when it is not freezing outside! Can you believe this weather? Anyway I am sure you are wondering what we did with the little one while we were working. Well I put him in his stroller, in the shade, and he napped so well! Of course I had to go in with him to feed him, but for the most part he did awesome. We still have some projects to complete, but they will have to wait for another weekend.

Unfortunately I have to go for my dreaded 6 week postpartum gyno appointment today. Yeah I am not looking forward to that one. I guess they can tell me how much weight I have to lose. Ha! I don't even really know what they do at this appointment. Guess I will be surprised. My wonderful sister Carrie is going to watch Andrew for me. Thanks Carrie!!

Also I have The 30 Day Shred update. Well not too much to update, but I have started level 2 and have completed about 5 days of it. Level 2 is a whole different world. I am halfway through the program and not really losing anymore weight. I guess I don't need to take 3 days off at a time. Hmm...

I leave you with pictures of Andrew! Enjoy!

Andrew is loving baths now!

He is smiling more and more everyday

This is his Elvis impersonation ( notice the blue thing in the background on the right? I will discuss this beauty later!)

My favorite!

Another meal made by the hubby. He was experimenting with a sauce you get at Chili's when you order fajitas. The oily sauce. It was so good and that corn was to die for! It was frozen corn that he made into a cheesy creamed corn. YUM!!

Back to Work

Yesterday I had to go to work to sign my contract for next year. I am so lucky to have a job right now!! Anyway I also took Andrew to visit all my students. They did not know I was coming, so when I snuck in the back door of the classroom, they were so surprised. They were all so sweet and wanted to know when I was coming back. When I told them, they wanted to know why I couldn't come back tomorrow! So sweet!! I spent a few hours visiting and now feel so much better about going back. Of course it is going to be the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but I love my job and I am so grateful for it.

I also have to report that Andrew ate at 7 last night and did not eat again till 12:30!! He also went 4 hours between feedings during the day. I am seeing great sleeping nights in our future! He is also 6 weeks old today and is getting bigger by the day. When I pick him up, I just cannot believe how much he has grown.

Well I am off to enjoy this cloudy day!
