Weekend Update

I guess I should call this a week and weekend update!

I have had so much going on! We had a field trip, 5th grade reception and recognition program, and school has ended for the summer!! I still have 3 post planning days and then school starts for me next week. I have not been in school for 5 years, so this will be an adjustment!

This weekend we have been laying pretty low. We did join Kim and Ed over at Amy and Michaels for supper Saturday night! The food was great and the friends were even better!

Yesterday we went to church and then headed home to relax. Andrew took a long nap and I watched Valentine’s Day. It was a great chick flick!

Today we were hoping to get out of the house, but it has been pouring all day. I guess I could start on a paper I have due next week? Maybe…

Here are a few pictures of my sweet boy! He is now walking all the time. Every day he gets better and better.

He is also trying and succeeding on opening all the doors in the house. Nothing is safe now!

DSC00885(rev 1)DSC00889(rev 1)

He is also working on scribbling with crayons!DSC00849(rev 1)DSC00850(rev 1)

Of course I had to hang this work of art on the fridge!  DSC00852(rev 1)

Also Duncan got a summer haircut!DSC00880(rev 1)

I guess that is enough for now!

Have a great Memorial Day!

Shopping, Prom,and the Lake

We had a great and busy weekend! Saturday we did a little shopping and then saw my beautiful niece off to the prom! She was just gorgeous and had tons of fun.brinsley(rev 1)DSC00820(rev 1)

Today we joined my family at the lake for lunch. Andrew LOVED being in the lake with his cousins! I didn’t get any great shots, but it was hot and Andrew was a handful!DSC00836(rev 1)DSC00827(rev 1)DSC00829(rev 1)DSC00831(rev 1)

My “diet” plan did not go as planned this weekend! I calculated my calories on My Plate website and I only had 98 calories left for the day after lunch. Hot dogs are terrible for you!! I had no idea that in 2 hotdogs there were 860 calories 51 grams of fat and 3300 grams of sodium!!! I don’t think I will eat a hot dog again!! We did go to the grocery store this morning and bought all the ingredients for my weekly supper menu. At least I am attempting this! Wish me tons of luck!

I feel like Oprah

I am sure this made someone laugh! If you watch Oprah, or even if you don’t, you know that she struggles with her weight. She has finally said she is done with dieting and talking about losing weight. I am feeling the same way. While pregnant I gained 40 lbs. I am currently the same weight I was before I got pregnant. Huge accomplishment, right? Well not really! I am 1 to 2 sizes bigger at the same weight. So obviously something needs to change! This time I am not buying anything! I am tired of the fads and dollars spent on an easy fix.

I found a website that is free and tracks your calories called My Plate. I am also going to use the Cooking Light website for meals because it tells you everything (calories, carbs, and portion sizes). I am going to attempt working out more. It is so hard with a toddler running around and pulling on your legs the entire time. I need to make this a priority and make time. I honestly just want to feel better about myself and be healthier.

So what are we eating for this upcoming week for supper?:

Monday: Grilled Tilapia with smoked paprika and parmesan polenta-422 calories

Tuesday: Quick Taco Salad-332 calories

Wednesday: Spaghetti with sausage and simple tomato sauce-460 calories

Thursday: Leftover Taco Salad (5th grade recognition night-NO TIME TO COOK!)

Friday: La Cabana-my reward and splurge of the week!

Enjoy your weekend!

What we have been up to…

Saturday: We went to two of our friends birthday parties. We enjoyed great food and great conversations. I think Andrew had the best time. He played the entire time!

This is Andrew and Colton. So sweet!DSC00792(rev 1) DSC00794(rev 1)

He loved the motorcycle and kept crawling to it! DSC00795(rev 1) DSC00796(rev 1)

Sunday: We finally put together Nick’s new grill and we have enjoyed it several times. It has gas on one side and charcoal on the other.

DSC00798(rev 1)

Andrew has been enjoying the outdoors all week. He LOVES being outside and says “outsi” all the time!DSC00799(rev 1) DSC00805(rev 1) DSC00806(rev 1)

His walking is improving. He is still only taking a few steps at a time, but it won’t be long and he will be out running me! Hope everyone has had an awesome week. We have field day tomorrow! Fun!?

15 months

Andrew turns 15 months this upcoming Tuesday, so I finally posting his updates early rather than late! GO ME!

I say it every month, but this is the funniest age! He is becoming much more playful and understands how to play and joke around.

Weight/Height: Guessing around 23lbs. He has his next checkup on the 24th.DSC00751(rev 1)

Clothes: mostly 18 months

Food: He drinks about 3 to 4 sippy cups full of whole milk a day plus one to two sippy cups of half water and half juice. He has started to have more of an appetite and will eat more at a sitting. He just started eating pineapple and popsicles. I can now give him something big and he will take on bite at a time to eat it.

DSC00767(rev 1)

Motor Skills: He is still crawling, pulling up, standing on his own, and cruising everywhere. He also FINALLY is taking 3 or 4 steps at a time with no help!! He is also pushing things everywhere at a very fast speed. He will walk everywhere as long as he is holding on by one hand. We are making progress!DSC00766(rev 1)

Sleep: goes to sleep around 8-8:30 and sleeps in his crib till about 12 and then refuses to sleep in it and so he goes to our bed where he sleeps till 6 am during the week and sometimes as late at 7:30 on the weekends. He wakes usually just once and sometimes not at all. When he is at home he takes two good naps, but usually only one at the babysitters. This is the same as last month.

       DSC00769(rev 1)DSC00768(rev 1)

Talking: New words- Outside (sounds more like outsi), book, Hot (which he fans his self while he is saying it) and See ya.

Teeth: still 6 teeth.DSC00752(rev 1)

He is playing patting cake (which he has done for a while), but has added the rolling up part. So cute! DSC00777(rev 1)

He LOVES to be outside and will light up when you say you are going out. He also LOVES going bye-bye. Basically he likes staying on the go and it the happiest when we are out of the boring house! He is also still crazy about riding in the car. I sometimes have to look back in the sit to make sure he still there because he so quiet and content.

Sorry this is so long, but it is more for my records. Andrew is becoming more of a toddler everyday and light up my life. I LOVE HIM TO THE MOON AND BACK!

Mother’s Day Weekend

I hope every Mother that is reading had a great weekend. We spent Saturday with Nick’s Mom, Dad, and Nana. We ate at the Olive Garden and it was so yummy!  I actually remembered to bring my camera along!

This is on the way.

A very bad picture of Nick’s dad, Andrew, and myself. As you can see Andrew was ready to leave by this point.

DSC00737(rev 1)

This was about 5 mins after we left. He was all tuckered out.

DSC00739(rev 1)

This was today before we left for church. I wish you could see Andrew’s onsie. It says “I love my mom!” and I love him!!

DSC00740(rev 1)

I feel so blessed on this day, and all days, because I have been honored with having a child. He is everything to me and pray for all the women waiting for a child. To my own mother- I love you and I thank you for everything you have sacrificed for me. Happy Mother’s Day!

Random Picture Post

I just took some pictures off my camera and thought I would share.

Went for a very quick swim last Sunday. He enjoyed it at first, but then the wind started blowing and he was done.

Just hanging out.

Enjoying his new paci. I bought this type because it has an open mouth area. With Andrew’s Atopic Dermatitis anything irritates his skin, including pacis. This seems to be helping some.

We are off to celebrate Mother’s day with a trip to the Olive Garden. YUM Oh!
