A Celebration!

I just finished my last day of class for the summer! I am so happy and I cannot believe how quickly it went by! Our professor actually fell on the way to the room we were in and had to leave before our final presentations (her hand started swelling and turned blue). So we presented to the other groups and graded ourselves! Terrible for her, but it made for a easy and quick presentation.

On a totally different subject: As I have spoken about in the past, Nick and I have been planning on adding onto our home soon. We actually took a small step forward yesterday when the contractor came by and looked at our house and talked with us. I am so excited about this because we are practically coming out the windows with STUFF! We are going to finish our final plans for what we want and then sit down with him to talk about the details.  I am thinking about adding a page to my blog and updating it on the ongoing renovations. The process will not begin for weeks, but I thought of sharing the whole process- Loan to Finished Product! What do you think?

I will end with a few cute pictures of Andrew playing outside!

This is him getting tired in the swing and laying down his head.

Have a great Wednesday!

Update: I went ahead and added the new page. You can see it above this post: And Then Came Home Renovation...- I will probably change the name if I can think of something creative!

Pre -4th

We had a great time this weekend and enjoyed the pre- 4th activities. We skipped out on the morning festivities on the square because it was so dang hot and I never buy anything! We did spend some of the day getting ready for our annual 4th cookout that is coming up next weekend!! We have so much to do and with a little one-nothing gets done when it needs to.

Later that night we went to the fireworks and chased Andrew around for an hour. As soon as the fireworks started he was in my lap and mesmerized! He loved every minute and kept pointing at them.

Remember this FUNNY picture from last year?

Here is the not so funny, but cute picture this year! Wow how both of them have grown!

Here are some more pictures from the night. I did not take many because I was chasing Andrew around almost the entire time. He was way more interested in chasing around little girls (no joke!).

Before we left

This was Sunday morning before church. Still sporting the 4th of July apparel. Church was great! They had a patriotic song celebration! I wish I was talented enough to be able to sing.

Birthday Party

One of Andrew’s friends had his 1st birthday party and we had a lot of fun! I took a few pictures, but as we all know it is impossible to take a picture of kids together.

16 months

Can you believe this was Andrew 1 year ago!!? I could just squeeze him!! He has changed sooo much and continues to amaze me everyday. I can’t imagine I will love him more, but everyday I do!

6 months 3 6 months 4 6 months

So what is he up to this month? A WHOLE LOT!

Weight/Height: He was 22 lbs at his 15 month checkup and 30 inches tall.

Clothes: 12 or 18 months and size 5 shoe

Food: We have cut back on milk a lot (we were thinking it he was getting so full on it and he wasn’t wanting real food). He is now drinking 2 sippy cups of milk, one in the morning and one before bed. He also drink about 2 cups of juice mixed with water. He continues to be an extremely picky eater! His favorites are cheese, bananas, chicken, sandwich meat, fries, any junk food (that is my child!), pineapple, and cereal.

Motor Skills: Last month he was only taking a few steps at a time and now I can PROUDLY say he is a FULL time walker. He walks basically all the time. He is still shaky when walking on grass. He can get to a standing position without holding on to anything. He can bend down and pick something up, and he can crawl up stairs. Let’s just say I am a busy mom!

Sleep: He is sleeping great (in our bed, LOL) and hardly ever wakes up. He takes 2 naps a day in his crib with no trouble at all. I just put him in there and he falls asleep, but when the sun goes down he refuses!

Talking: I don’t even know where to begin. He says new words everyday. I wish I wrote everything down. Just some new ones that I can think of now are: colors (only recognizes yellow), up, down, please, thank you, water, milk, car, truck, vroom, choo choo, etc.

He can also tell us what a cow, cat, and dog say and point and say eyes, nose, and belly button! Too cute!

Teeth: 6 and I think one more is still coming in.

He has turned into such a clown and is constantly making everyone laugh! Also he has started to cry (sometimes) when I leave him. That is such a terrible feeling to have!

If you are still reading , bless you! Again, as I always say, this is more for my memories. Ending I would like to say that Andrew has blessed my life with such joy and laughter. I am forever grateful that God gave me such an amazing child!

Weekend Update

I managed to get ahead on most of my school work, so I did get to enjoy some of the weekend.  Saturday we did some shopping and came back to town and had dinner together.  We spent a lot of time outside Saturday and Sunday. Even though is was in the mid 90’s Andrew wanted to stay out the whole day.  I of course did not oblige to this because it just wasn’t safe and I couldn’t take it. We did manage to get some swinging, exploring, and swimming into the weekend. I did spend Andrew’s nap times on Sunday reading and writing papers.

I reluctantly had to send Andrew to the baby sitter today. I don’t have class, but I had a meeting at school and needed some time to finish another paper and more reading. As much work as this Master’s degree is, it sure is going by fast.

Below are pictures from the weekend. Andrew spent most of it in his diaper, because it was so darn hot!

Knee Deep

I have been knee deep in school work and there is no end in sight. I went to two classes and I love the professors. I really think I am going to get a lot out of the courses. I do however have a ton to do. The course load is normally stretched across 8 weeks and for June it is 4 weeks. So I have been working and working.

I am going to take a short break today and visit a friend and her baby. She had a her a couple of months ago and I haven’t seen since she was a week old. I am sure she has changed so much.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

We spent a couple of hours outside yesterday and had the best time. I think I took a hundred pictures! Andrew will never be able to say he doesn’t have any pictures of him! HA! Outside pictures are the best. They are so colorful and fun. These are just a few!

I was suppose to attend my first Master’s class today, but the professor found out that she has breast cancer and had surgery. We were suppose to have a makeup assignment, but she could not get the email to send. So what am I going to do with all my free time today? I am thinking about doing NOTHING!! Sounds great to me!

Weekend Update

We had another good and relaxing weekend for the most part. Saturday we took off to do some shopping and I should have known better than to not drive on a empty stomach. For some background knowledge: I get car sick very easily. I always have and always will. I normally drive everywhere for that reason. Anyway we went straight to eat, but by that point it was a little late. We did some QUICK shopping and headed home. TMI, but we got home right in time! Not good! We relaxed the rest of the day.

He looks so big in this picture! His 15 month checkup was the other day and he weighs 22lbs and 31 inches tall, so he is actually small for his age!DSC00895(rev 1)

Loves playing with cars and makes the sounds when he is driving them around.DSC00937(rev 1)

Sunday we spent time playing in the pool and enjoying the great outdoors. A much needed bath was needed afterward.

Such a funny picture!

He is a bird! (southern term for CRAZY!)DSC00908(rev 1)

5 years

Today Nick and I have been married for 5 years! Time really does fly! I am still absolutely smitten with him and I could not imagine my life without him!

We are going out to eat tonight all alone, so that will be a nice change. We decided not to buy gifts because we are saving for our huge house remodel. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Life as a student/mom

As I have said before, I am going back to school for my Masters. It starts next week, but luckily I have already received two out of three syllabuses (spelling?). I am glad because I can get a head start on some assignments. I am already beginning to get a sense of how hard it is going to be for the month of June. I thought I would get some more reading done today when I got off work, but with a little one craving my attention, it just wasn’t going to happen. So now he is asleep and instead of laying down, relaxing, and watching Glee, I am going to read, read, and read so more! I have to keep reminding myself that this month will fly by and I will have a whole month with my baby. Wish me luck!
