Andrew 19 months

I am behind! Andrew turned 19 months on the 18th, but oh well!!

Weight/Height: close to 23 lbs and about 31 inches tall. He is still small in weight, but the doctor has never said a word!

Clothes: 18 months (12 month blue jeans), size 4 diapers, and size 5 shoe (probably size 6 soon)

Food: He is drinking 2 sippy cups of milk, one in the morning and one before bed. He also drinks about 3 cups of juice mixed with water.

Motor Skills: Running everywhere!!

Sleep: Sleeps all night and is down to 1 nap during the day for about 2 hours. He goes to bed around 8:00 and sleeps till 6 or 6:30. He sleeps a little later on the weekends. He is a morning person like his dad!

Talking: Constantly talking and saying new words. Some new words that I can think of are: trash, sit, colors (crayons), helpy (help), pee pee (No he is not ready for potty training :), please, run, I Love You (my favorite-he will point to his eye, heart, and point to me), train, diaper, milk, down, etc.

Teeth: 7 and a few more are coming through soon.

Interest: Still loves coloring, being outside, and looking at books. He has starting saying Thank You every time we give him ANYTHING! He literally looks you in the eye and says it. He will say it over and over until you say “You are Welcome!” I started early on with this, so I guess he finally picked it up. I hope it stays!!

He also loves to cuddle and jump on the bed! :)

Slow Progress

We are making slow progress with the house addition. Nick finished digging everything out for the footings and it has been sitting because of the rain. They are suppose to pour the concrete for the footings tomorrow!! I finally took some pictures!!

So it is just a hole in the ground, but I can already imagine every room!!

Other than home stuff, I have been very busy. I have helped throw two baby showers for some wonderful friends! I finished another class of my master’s that resulted in a 35 page paper. Not fun, but at least it is DONE!! I start a new class Monday. UGH! No break!!

Work has not slowed down at all. I feel like I am always running a race and never catching up or feeling like I have done enough.

However, I have enjoyed my sweet Andrew and about to enjoy a week off next week!! Praise the LORD!

Here are some pics of tonight's adventures outside. We do this every night and I just love it!

I have been slacking on this blog, obviously. I have had so many due dates in the last two weeks! I have job, school, and professional growth workshop stuff and it never ends. So needless to say,  I am exhausted! I don’t think I have said I was bored in the past year. Oh how I would love that feeling.

Anyway enough sulking! We have made some progress on the house plans. We signed the final bank loan papers two Fridays ago. The air conditioner, wash machine drain,  and something with the sewer was moved. Nick worked ALL weekend on grading the addition area and most of next weekend will be spent digging out the footings. Hopefully this will be the only thing Nick helps with! It is taking away from all of our family time. This week the contractor is having the electric meter moved and other stuff that I am not sure about. I will add a picture soon of the grading. We are so glad to see PROGRESS!

Andrew is talking ALL the time! He says new things everyday and beginning to repeat everything we say. He has also started saying I Love You! It melts my heart!!

Here is the sweet and busy boy!

He LOVES his new Elmo Slippers and wants to wear them all the time.

The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes Chapters 11-20

Well I am behind with the book club, but I will get there one day!

1. Where do you think Tim and Marty are at this point in the story?
I believe they are hiding out somewhere or on the run.

2. What were your thoughts as CeeCee was helping Genevieve deliver her baby?
I felt so bad for her. At such a young age she did something incredible and now she is left with this huge responsibility and remorse for the mother.

3. After Genevieve died, what would you have done with her baby if you had been in CeeCee's shoes?
I can see how she gets automatically attached to the baby, but I would try to get the baby back to the governor.
4. Why do you think CeeCee/Eve is still holding onto hope that Tim will come for her?
She believes that if he returns he will be able to fix everything and her life will go back to normal.

5. How do you think Eve will establish her new identity in Virginia?
I believe it is going to be really hard for her to become this new person and forget everything about her past.

6. What do you think of CeeCee/Eve now after she has gone through with the kidnapping, the delivery of the baby, the escape, and the relocation?
I think she is stronger than she thought she was, but she has to grow up and try to change her life.

I really liking this book now. It was a little slow at first, but it is now getting really good!

This and That

I hope everyone is having a great Labor day! I am enjoying having an extra day to relax and catch up. This post is going to be a mash of lots of things. It may be a little long, but it is probably the only post this week. HA!

1) Having children is hard! I say this only because I don’t often talk about the hard parts of being a parent. Of course the good out weigh the bad, but no part of it is easy. Today Andrew has been in a terrible mood all because of a short nap. He is now down to only one nap a day which last about 2 hours. Well today his nap only lasted about 45 mins. He was woken up when Nick came in through the garage. Every since then he has been crying over EVERYTHING! Needless to say he is taking a second nap which is good for him and me!

2) Yesterday was a wonderful day! Andrew was in the best mood and we played outside most of the day. He would live outdoors if I would let him. Nick and I joke all the time about moving his bed outside! He is really into finding rocks and putting them in a bucket and then pouring the out. He also enjoys a good stick and trying to blow bubbles.

3) House plans are creeping along at a snails pace. We are suppose to sign the final loan papers tomorrow. YAY!!! Since Nick’s dad’s business has lots of construction equipment, Nick is going to dig the footings for the new addition.  He had to dig around this weekend and locate some cables and pipes. Andrew decide to help put out flags!

4) I found this cute idea for a wreath the other day and I just have to make one! It looks super easy and I could make one for every season/holiday. Basically you get a foam wreath form and tie ribbon around. I can’t wait to have my craft room complete (will be located in old kitchen), so I can do things like this all the time!!

5) These little army worms are everywhere!!! They are ALL over our yard and everything I read does not sound good. Find more information here. Looking at our grass you can see little and big worms literally every few inches.  I only noticed them because they started getting on our driveway and they are all over the school I work at.

I hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

Weekend Update

We have had a great weekend! The weather has been wonderful!!! I am so feel fall in the air and I am loving it!

Friday was the first home game for our High School football team. Being a teacher in the county, I had to wear our colors! Even Andrew wore Orange and Black! GO DOGS!

He was not very happy in the picture!

Saturday we enjoyed all the college football games and grilled out for two of our great friends. We had grilled steaks, twice baked potatoes, blue cheese chopped salad (recipe from Outback), and Nutter Butter Peanut Butter Pie! I made the pie and it was so easy and so good!! I didn’t take any pictures.

Today we went to church and brought Andrew back for a nap while I worked on school stuff.  I plan on enjoying some outside time today! I am loving it not being in the 90’s!

Also I am going to include two pictures from last weekend when we cookout at my parents. This is a picture of Andrew with his two cousins Desiree and Harley.DSC01726(rev 1) DSC01727(rev 1)

Have a great LABOR DAY!!
