Dear Andrew

This is my 3rd Dear Andrew post. I just can't believe that!! Anyway for those of you who don't know I write a letter to Andrew every year on his birthday. The first letter was a few days before he was born and then another at his 1st birthday. You can check those out here and here. This is the new one!

Dear Andrew,

Wow! You are 2 years old today and I can’t believe it! This year has been filled with so much fun. You have learned to walk and then quickly moved to running. You still love being outside and hate when we have to come in. You are talking so much lately and are repeating everything we say. You still love being on the go and are not afraid of anything. You even went skating for the first time and wanted to skate with the big kids. You love The Wiggles, Thomas the Train, and Sesame Street. You enjoy playing with books, trains, blocks, and cars. You have learned to count to 13 and even know a few letters!

Andrew you are a true blessing to us and not a day goes by that I do not thank God for you. You amaze us with your intelligence, affection, and humor. You are very head strong and know exactly what you want. I know you will do great things with your life. I am already so proud to call you my son! I know this upcoming year will be filled with so many milestones and tons of laughter. I pray that you will experience nothing but happiness. I love you sweet boy!

Love Always,

Andrew’s Birthday Cont./Weekend

I posted about this briefly, but now I have the pictures! Andrew got to go to one of his favorite Mexican restaurants for his birthday Friday.  Nick’s mom and grandmother joined us. Andrew did so well and loved the cheese dip and quesadilla.  After ward’s the staff sang Happy Birthday and even smeared whip cream on his face. He LOVED it and laughed so hard! (Excuse the pictures! I forgot my camera and Nick had to take them with his phone)

We then headed to Nick’s parents to open gifts. Andrew loved everything he got!! Hartwell-20110218-00113Hartwell-20110218-00114Hartwell-20110218-00117Hartwell-20110218-00120

Saturday, we worked around the house some and cleaned out the garage.  It became a dumping ground during the addition work.  Anyway we met Nick’s parents at their house for lunch. We then headed to my niece’s 12th birthday party at a local skating rink.  I had no intentions of letting Andrew skate, but he was SOOO interested! We found some adjustable skates that actually fit.  He didn’t think twice about “skating” around the carpet. He really wanted to go out on the rink, but mommy was not that brave! He only fell a few times and always jumped right back up.  Luckily for him my mom already purchased some skates, with knee pads, for his upcoming birthday party.  I only got one picture! He cried and cried when we had to leave!

Notice the Wiggles shirt? Andrew is obsessed with the Wiggles!! My mom found this shirt online and his name is on the back. He loves it!!

Today we went to church. We always make the mistake of telling Andrew where we are going and he walks around saying “church, GO” every few mins. until we leave. He loves church and I am so happy for that! He came home and took a LONG nap.  Nick and I finished cleaning the garage. I am so ready to be done with everything and enjoy what we have! After grocery shopping for the week and supper, we lounged around for the first time all weekend….I also enjoyed a relaxing soak in our new tub. HEAVEN!!

Sorry so long….I have jury duty tomorrow for the first time. Should be interesting!

Happy Birthday Andrew!

Two years ago today, I had the honor of giving birth to the precious little boy!  We have learned a lot together and had so much fun! He has blessed us with hours of laughter and joy. Our lives have definitely changed, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Andrew had a good doctor’s visit, but was not happy to see the doctor leave. As soon as the doctor walked out of the room he started crying and wanting to leave. It is amazing that he can remember that shots come next. They came and he cried, but was quickly over it. It only gets harder! I am so glad he doesn’t have to go back for another year.

We spent the rest of the day playing and enjoying one on one time together. Today was beautiful and around 75 degrees. What a perfect birthday!?

We went to La Cabana for supper with Nick, his mom, and grandmother. They even sang Happy Birthday and smeared whipped cream all over his face. He LOVED it! Nick took pictures on his phone, so I will have to post when I get them off.

We then went to Nick’s parents house to open presents. He got the cutest fire fighter rain coat, a big dump truck, shirt, little VTECH computer, and a wood table and chairs. He had the best time!! I everything was a huge hit!

While we were outside playing I snapped some cute pictures!

I got several ordered so I can frame them. He was actually smiling for the camera which is unusual these days!

Happy Birthday sweet boy!!!

Day at the Park

We had a very busy day today.  This morning we went for Andrew’s 2 year checkup only to be told we had to come back tomorrow. They scheduled the appointment for the wrong day! It made me so mad!!

We went home and played and I got to put up some of my craft stuff. The stuff has been in boxes for years and now it finally has a home in the old kitchen! It still needs a lot of organizing.

Then we had a quick snack.  I can’t believe he smiled for the camera!

After a good nap, we headed to the local park! We met up with Kim, Amy, and their babies. It was beautiful outside!! The weather was perfect! Andrew had so much fun sliding, swinging, and playing. The babies did so well and really enjoyed the great outdoors.

When we got home Andrew and I washed my very dirty car. We were both soaked by the end! Andrew had a bath, ate, watched his favorite show JEOPARDY and was out like a light!

I am so enjoying my time at home!! Tomorrow my sweet baby turns 2! How did that happen?

*Check out Kim’s blog and welcome her to the blogging world!

Haircut and Fun in the Sun

Andrew has been in the need of a hair cut for quite a while.  Today I finally got it checked off the list!! Nick and I have always taken him together, but I went alone this time.  The last few times have not been pleasant. He has cried almost the whole time, but not today! I held him this time and he was so good! He was so calm, almost to the point of almost falling asleep. He was so happy to get a sucker when we left. He just kept saying “sucker! sucker!”

So adorable!!! He looks like a little boy again! LOL!

Later that day we enjoyed some time in the sun!! I am loving this weather. Andrew rode a few things, but really enjoyed me chasing him.  He runs and runs and then makes himself fall down. I loved every moment!

On a completely different subject…who checked out Survivor Redemption Island? I think it is going to be a great season!! Also I am so glad Michelle left on The Bachelor!
