Day off!!

Today is a workday for teacher’s, but we are furloughed today. So I am going to enjoy my day off!! I started this morning by finally getting my hair cut. It has been over a year since I have even had a trim. My sister has always cut my hair and now with her new job she doesn’t have the time. I have been looking for someone every since. I finally heard about someone and I am in love!! She did such a great job, was so easy to talk to, and her prices are wonderful!! I already scheduled another appointment for five weeks so I can keep up with the hair cut! I think I may cut the bangs a little shorter next time, but it feels so much better!

Since Andrew was at the babysitter’s I headed to a local store to find Andrew some summer clothes. With the temperature in the 80’s today, I know we will be in for a hot summer! I found some great deals!

Below are some pictures of one day during the week. Andrew loves playing outside and that is what we do as soon as we get home in the afternoon. I think I may have a good tan this year or maybe just a farmer’s tan! HA!

This is the only good picture I got of Andrew’s St.Patty’s day attire!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! It is going to be a beauty!

Saturday Fun!

It has been so nice this weekend!! The weather has been perfect and for once I didn’t have too much school work.

The morning started off with this cutie in his work overalls. Nick laid tile most of the morning and Andrew was ready to help! He decided to leave all the work behind and ride around in the tractor with his Pop.

DSC04104(rev 1)DSC04107(rev 1)

I hate I didn’t get any pictures of him in the tractor. Anyway I headed out to a baby shower while Andrew was napping. The shower was so cute and she got tons of cute girl things! It so makes me want another one!!

After I returned we headed out to a local park and enjoyed watching Andrew play. He has the climbing and sliding thing down!

I helped him the first time, but he quickly figured it out!

The views of the lake were beautiful!DSC04115(rev 1)DSC04116(rev 1)DSC04117(rev 1)DSC04121(rev 1)DSC04123(rev 1)DSC04126(rev 1)DSC04129(rev 1)DSC04131(rev 1)DSC04132(rev 1)DSC04135(rev 1)

He was very unhappy about leaving!!!

Today before church, Nick and I were making a grocery list and Andrew drew on some paper. It is so cute how much concentration he puts into it!

DSC04140(rev 1)DSC04142(rev 1)DSC04145(rev 1)

On a completely different note I am finally getting my hair cut!!! I have not even had a trim in over a year. I am doing anything too drastic, but I really like this cut. I hope it goes well. I am ready for cooler and hair that is not a tangled mess all of the time.

Easter Preview

I LOVE Easter! The weather is perfect, we get to dress up, enjoy great meals, children get to enjoy a fun day, and of course we get to celebrate Jesus! I already have Andrew’s outfit, if it is warm. We are planning on having the whole family over for food and and Easter egg hunt. I have a few decorations for Easter and did not put them out last year. We were so crowded that I just couldn’t imagine adding another thing to our space. Finally I can decorate for holidays again!! Check out the “new” décor!

DSC04093DSC04094DSC04095DSC04096DSC04097DSC04098DSC04099DSC04100DSC04101

Most of the items came for Hobby Lobby a few years ago. The big eggs in the basket were paper mache and I painted them. The sign was white and I added the polka dots. Here is the original post about painting everything.

I am off to enjoy the beautiful day and go to a baby shower!

Weekend Update

We had a well deserved relaxing weekend!! We have been going and going for months and we finally stopped for a weekend and rested! Friday we hosted the Friday night rotation and decided on ordering pizza. It was great and very relaxing. I also got to hold two sweet babies! That is one of my favorite things to do!! I really makes me miss Andrew being in that stage. It rained all day Saturday, but we did manage to take a trip to Wal-Mart and the grocery store. We did nothing else but lounge around. Andrew and Nick enjoyed there new favorite activity! They sit on the bottom stair, Andrew will say “ready, set, go!” and they race through the living room. So cute to watch!! Sunday we went to church, again in the rain, and headed home. It was a great service! Andrew took a nap and Nick and I enjoyed watching the movie Due Date. I have not seen a movie that funny in forever! We enjoyed some time outside when it finally cleared up. I love weekends like this!! The following are pictures from last weekend. We attempted to fly a kite!

One day during the week, Andrew tried his skates again. Notice Nick’s sock flip flop look!! He just got off work and slipped them on.

Andrew 24 months

Well the fact that Andrew turned 2 Feb. 18th means I am a little behind!! Oh well that is life! After this month I only plan on updating maybe every other month. He is growing and I have to stop counting months eventually!

Weight/Height:  24lbs and 33 1/2 inches tall (25th percentile for both)

Clothes: just started wearing some 24 month and 2T, size 4 diapers, and size 6 shoe (starting to get small).

Food: He is drinking 2 Sippy cups of milk, one in the morning and one sometime during the day.   He also drinks at least 4 to 5 cups of juice mixed with water.  He is still very picky but beginning to have more of an appetite. Really recently started eating pizza!!

Motor Skills: He is very active! He loves running, “riding” his toys outside, and dancing!

Sleep: He is still sleeping great in his BIG BOY BED!! I still like to rock him to sleep, but he by no means needs me to. I enjoy and want to hang on to the routine for as long as possible.  He is still taking one nap a day and it is usually 2-3 hours long! He sleeps well for the babysitter, but not near as long. He loves his bed at home!- same as last month. He is a great sleeper!

Talking: He is constantly talking and saying new words. He can basically repeat anything I say, so it is hard to list new words. He is starting to put together 2 and 3 word phrases. New words: Computer, motorcycle, nope (we hear this quite often!), etc. He is really starting to say more and more phrases like: I want ____, I can’t ____, etc.

He can count to 13 usually and recognizes the letter S and O. He says other letters randomly. He also knows circle, star, square, and sometimes triangle. Colors are still hard.

Teeth: Same but is beginning to chew on his sleeves, so maybe 2 year molars are approaching!

Interest: Loves playing with cars, trains, tractors, and books. Still enjoys going on rides in the car, visiting grandparents, and being out and about.  He is beginning to have an interest for dinosaurs, which I think is so fun. He loves walking around outside and exploring!

Potty Training: He is still telling us every time he goes number 2 and sometimes before he goes pee pee. He is beginning to not like the wet feeling of the diaper and this has never bothered him before. I believe he is ready, but mommy is not ready!! I don’t want to start on a weekend and leave it up to his babysitter to deal with it during the week. I am really trying to hold off till this summer. –same as last month

Two years have flown by!! I can’t wait for all the new things that we are going to get to experience.

Andrew’s 2nd Birthday Party

I finally have a chance to write about Andrew’s birthday party. We had such a great time and loved that everyone wanted to celebrate with us.

Food: The menu was pretty simple. We served fruit, pasta salad, crunchy coleslaw, cheese/salsa with chips, and chicken strips from Zaxby’s. I labeled all the food with some type of vehicle.

The décor consisted of trucks, trains, and cars, Andrew’s favorite toys!

DSC03915(rev 1)

A very talented lady made his cake and I just loved it!!

DSC03916-1(rev 1)

As soon as I took the cake out of the box Andrew swiped a taste! I couldn’t get on to him b/c it was HIS cake! LOL!

DSC03917-1(rev 1)DSC03918-1(rev 1)DSC03919-1(rev 1)DSC03920(rev 1)

We had so many friends and family come to visit!! There were more babies then I could count! Andrew loved every minute!

DSC03925(rev 1)DSC03930-1(rev 1)DSC03931-1(rev 1)DSC03933-1(rev 1)DSC03937(rev 1)

After food and cake, we opened presents! Andrew definitely has the hang of opening presents down to a science!

DSC03944-1(rev 1)DSC03949-1(rev 1)DSC03951(rev 1)DSC03963-1(rev 1)DSC03976(rev 1)

We then headed outside to dig for treasures! We were so lucky that the weather was so nice!

DSC03983-1(rev 1)DSC03988-1(rev 1)DSC04002(rev 1)

The kids loved playing outside!

DSC04007(rev 1)DSC04008(rev 1)DSC04010(rev 1)

Andrew even got a pair of his own skates!!

DSC04009(rev 1)

After everyone left we had a little fun of our own!!…and then we all crashed!!

Thanks to everyone who made this day so special!!
