Easter 2011 Part 2

We had a great Easter!! We started the day with Andrew getting his basket filled with a watch, Thomas the Train, and some candy.

We then headed to church for a great service. I am so glad Andrew LOVES going to church. I just know he will grow up and know God from a very early age!

Here is an attempt at a family shot.

This was on the way out the door. I just added this and Andrew thought it was so funny!

After church we got everything ready to have my family and Nick’s parents and grandmother over for Easter dinner and a egg hunt. We had a blast!

Easter 2011 Part 1

We had a great time at our church’s Easter Egg Hunt!! It was a blur of running after Andrew, but fun nonetheless! We started by enjoying a doughnut. This was just enough sugar to get Andrew moving. HA!

We then visited the Easter bunny! This was by far Andrew’s favorite part! He smiled so big when he walked in the room!! He has never been afraid of the Santa or the Easter bunny. He even wanted to interrupt everyone else pictures just so he can see the bunny.

An attempt at a group picture.

We then completed a craft of decorating a felt cross.

Then it was on to the egg hunt. Andrew’s least favorite activity! He was way more interested in playing on the playground that was beside us. He picked up two eggs and some of his friends gave him a few more.

So he played on the playground…and I was just fine with that!

On the way home, Pop promised Andrew he would take him on a ride in the tractor. 10 mins later he was fast asleep….

I am excited about church, giving Andrew his Easter basket, and dressing up!  We are having my family over for Easter Supper tomorrow, so will be busy tomorrow!

New look!

What do you think about my NEW look? I LOVE it!! Thank you to Krista at Munchkin Land Designs for my new look! I was ready for something different and Andrew’s pictures were VERY old. I have been MIA because I have been crazy busy! So what have I been up to:

School Work: 1 reflection, 1 journal article review, 1 Power Point Presentation, found a law case for class discussion (still need to answer 10 essay questions by Mon.)

School- State Testing Tues.-Thurs., Met with parents for 5th grade recognition, faculty meeting, parent meetings, etc.

A group of teachers started The 30 Day Shred after school and I was only able to do it Tues b/c of class and meetings. I will get in one more workout tomorrow. I am so out of shape! I am SOOOO sore!!

I am tired just thinking about it everything I have done and things I still need to do! We are having our family and Nick’s parents over for Easter Sunday. We are eating dinner and hunting eggs. Can’t wait!!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and remembers the real meaning of Easter.

Redneck Caviar

This is the best recipe!! It is a great appetizer/dip that everyone loves. I am not a fan of black eyed peas, bell peppers, or uncooked onion, but it doesn’t even matter with this recipe!! I promise!

Redneck Caviar
1-15 oz.can white shoe peg corn-drained and rinsed
1-15 oz. can of black-eyed peas-drained and rinsed
1 bell pepper chopped
1 med. onion chopped
1 jar Braswell's pepper relish
1-8 oz. bottle Zesty Italian Dressing

Mix together and chill
Serve with Frito Lays Corn Chips Scoops

We had a great Saturday. After Andrew woke from his nap we headed to Anderson. I found some cute clothes for Andrew at Children’s Place, got some refills for my Wallflowers, and made a trip for CRCT treats for my students! We met up with my mom and dad and ate at O’Charley’s. We then headed home to play outside.

Today I worked at the nursery at church for both services and it was great to see what happens when I leave Andrew every week. I even got to watch Dylan and Claire!! I hope I eased Amy and Kim into the nursery and hopefully they will be back at church more often. It is so hard to let them go some where for the first time, but it has been wonderful for Andrew and I know it will be for them also. I have spent the last 2 hours watching Country Strong and it was SOOOO good!! It makes me want to listen to country music more often.

Well we are off to enjoy this beautiful day and grill some food to last us the week!

I can’t have a post without pictures, so here is Andrew and Duncan playing before church.DSC04397DSC04400DSC04402

Friday Fun

Friday at school, we had cumulative review to prepare for the upcoming state test. I was responsible for coming up with a math game. With Easter coming up soon, I decided to go with that theme. I hid Easter eggs around the classroom that contained Math problems. They loved the game!!

Friday night we were back on schedule with our rotation and we went to Amy and Michael's house. The kids had so much fun hanging out together! Dylan and Andrew are now able to interact with each other and they are so cute together! I can’t wait for all 3 of them to be running around the house!

I actually remembered to take my camera this time!

We now have the cocoons hanging up and we anxiously waiting for them to become butterflies!

Andrew watching the action!

My mom and I went this morning for a mani and pedi and it was so nice!! Like my mom said, we got all the barnacles off our feet! HA! We are off for some Saturday fun when Andrew decides to wake up!
