Andrew and Duncan

Andrew LOVES Duncan! They have been close companions since he was born. He can usually be found near Andrew. As Andrew has gotten older, he has started to play with him even more. He was fetch and chase all the time! I went back and found a ton of pictures of the two of them.

To Induce or Not to Induce

When I was pregnant with Andrew I was miserable at the end. Andrew did not come on his own. I went to the doctor on his due date and was checked for progress and there was very little (1 cm). I knew there was NO way I could make it any longer. I wanted him out as soon as possible. The doctor suggested an induction for that night and I went in happy to know he was healthy and ready to come into this world. I have nothing else to compare his labor to, but it was short for a first pregnancy. My water was broken around 8:30 and he was delivered a little after 1pm. This is pretty quick for a first born, so I was super afraid Abigail would come even quicker. Nick is currently working over 2 hours away from home and another 30 mins. to the hospital. Again I was stressing over him not being there. He was also concerned about not making it and knowing he was rushing and driving scares me.

At my most recent appointment, I asked my doctor about an induction. He very nonchalantly said that it would not be a problem.  He said he would induce me up to a week early and gave me a day to come to the hospital. Wow! That was easy! So, unless she comes on her own, I will going in on the evening of May 16th and having her on the 17th. I LOVE the fact that I have a date and an end in sight! I can’t wait any longer to see this little girl!

I get approached several times a day by coworkers telling me that there is no way I am going to make it. They say I looked like I have dropped (I haven’t). So obviously, I am enormous and people are concerned that she is going to bust out soon! In some ways I think she may come on her own and in other ways I don’t. I have had NO contractions or Braxton Hicks. I do not feel intense pressure like you feel when you are at the end of pregnancy. However, I get very tired from the smallest activities, out of breath extremely easy, and have sharp pains several times a day in my pelvic area. The sharp pains happen when she moves a certain way which tells me she is very low. So, I guess we will see. Meanwhile I am running around like crazy trying to get things done before she comes. Her bag is mostly packed, all clothes and blankets are washed, and her room is ready. Next weekend we are going to buy last minute items. We still need to install the car seat and pack ourselves. It is getting so close!!

Sorry for the rambling!

Andrew and Abigail’s Bathroom Part 2

Last week I shared the very beginning stages of the new shared kid’s bathroom. Last week we focused on clearing out the room, priming, and painting the bottom half. This weekend Nick painted the top half (Rhine River- Benjamin Moore) and we put the bathroom back together for now.

Again here is the before:

This weekend:

This is where the new cabinets will go, along with two mirrors that came with Abigail’s dresser. I am very excited about this part!

The towel holder will be gone…

The white storage cabinet will also be moved into the playroom- more storage for TOYS!

Obviously we have a lot more decorative things to do and that is when the FUN begins! I need a shower curtain, hand towels, bath mat, and pictures. We are still going to put in a double sink with cabinets soon and Nick is going to regrout the tile. It is in bad shape and the brown color is not working anymore.

This may be part 2 of many!

Day of Fun!

Saturday was such a day of fun! We started the morning by attending a sweet little girl’s 2nd birthday party. Andrew had a blast sliding down the blow up slide!

Playing with Dylan and enjoying yummy cake!

We headed home for a good nap (not us, Andrew-I WISH!). Nick finished painting Andrew and Abigail’s bathroom (pictures tomorrow!) and I cleaned the house. It literally exhausted me! It is so frustrating to not being to get as much done as I really need to, but my body is telling me to SLOW down. I am trying not to listen.

For dinner we stopped by and picked up Zaxby’s and went to a local playground to eat and PLAY!  We are trying to enjoy being able to leave the house and go whenever. We know that will have to stop for a short period when Abigail decides to join us. Right now we are enjoying our time with Andrew.

Here he is before leaving. Can you tell he is excited? Playgrounds are his favorite places to be!

It took him about 10 mins to decided to slide down the big slide with no help. Once he saw all the other kids, he quickly jumped in feet first. He played with 4 little girls that were between 4-7 years old. He kept right up with them and loved every moment!

I love this little boy! Even though he is extremely hard headed and can make me want to pull my hair out, he is still my baby!

Hope you enjoyed your weekend!

33, 34, and 35 Weeks

Picture to come!

How Far Along: 35 and a half weeks

Size of baby: 33 Weeks (pineapple) and 34 Weeks (cantaloupe), and 35 (honeydew melon)- YIKES!
Gender: GIRL!!
Maternity Clothes: All maternity
Weight Gain: Probably close to 30 lbs
Movement: She is mover and a shaker. However, she is starting to run out of room so her movements can sometimes hurt. She has hiccups several times a day and they shake my whole stomach.
Sleep: Sleep has not been fun lately. I have what I believe to be restless leg syndrome and it is horrible. If I sit or lay down for too long, I constant urges to move my legs. This makes it very hard to fall asleep. I literally have to walk around the house for a while. Once I am asleep, I sleep pretty well.
Symptoms: A lot of lower back, hips, and leg pain. I still have very swollen feet, wrists, and hands. Both of my rings are off and many of my shoes are tight.
Cravings: I still like anything cold- fruit, yogurt, milk, orange juice, smoothies, etc. I often find that NOTHING sounds good even when I am starving. Very frustrating.
Best moment this week: Having only 2 more weeks of work left!

Outside FUN!

We had a lot of fun playing outside last week. Andrew is in his element outside and just loves every moment. We try to go out every day after supper for at least an hour.

We had a few cooler days last week, so we put on the jackets and headed out.

I always say that I have a very cautious little boy and I REALLY do. Notice him standing on the well that is mere inches from the ground. Well he holds his hand out for me to help him jump down. Oh goodness!

DSC00419-1(rev 1)

He does throw caution into the wind at times. He loved riding his truck around the sprinklers!

DSC00420-1(rev 1)DSC00422-1(rev 1)

He LOVES to ride on the lawn mower with daddy!

DSC00423-1(rev 1)DSC00424-1(rev 1)

By the way, my tiered planter is growing some beautiful plants. Everything is in full bloom!

Have a great day and enjoy the great outdoors!
