End of the School Year

YAY!!! The last day of school was Friday! I have enjoyed my sweet kindergarteners this year!  I have looked forward to this summer more than any other.  I am so ready to enjoy my own children, get my house organized from head to toe, create some TPT products, start working out more, and RELAXING!!!

We have had a jam packed week as usual.  Andrew had a sweet awards day for his Pre-K class. He received an award for knowing the entire alphabet and sounds, an award for outstanding behavior (most proud of this one), and a certificate of completion.  So proud of this well behaved and smart boy.

I started feeling congested and just plain awful Monday evening.  I managed to work Tuesday, came home, and crashed.  There is nothing like feeling HORRIBLE and having two little ones to watch.  Nick got home late the day, so it was not fun for anyone. Andrew missed his T-ball game and Thursday was rained out.

I felt slightly better on Wednesday and great by Thursday.  Thursday was WATER day at school and my class Luau and award day.

Friday was Andrew’s last day of Pre-K and the end of my 9th year of teaching.  Time really does FLY by!

Abigail has had a milestone also!  She has moved from her baby swing to a regular swing! She LOVES to swing, so this is huge for her!

Nick is working on the deck again today.  I plan to do an update with pictures tomorrow!  We are getting close!

Memorial Day Weekend

Wow we haa a busy, but productive long weekend.  This weekend is usually a casual, cookout, relaxing kind of weekend, but not this year.

Nick spent all of Saturday working on the deck.  He pulled up the tiny deck we originally had, so the boards would all go in the same direction, pulled up old steps, and laid this much decking.  I cleaned, did laundry, and ran after 2 children.

We then went to a local Mexican restaurant for some much need relaxing.  Is it really ever relaxing eat out with a 2 year old and 5 year old? LOL!  We then made a stop at Home Depot for some flower shopping.  The pots in the front of the house needed some refreshing.

We had a little help.

I plan on making a new wreath sometime.

We cooked spaghetti for dinner.  This has to be Abigail’s FAVORITE meal!

After summer, Nick and Andrew planted some new shrubs.  We had to replace some that died from the extreme cold we had this winter.

Sunday, I went grocery shopping.  Nick and I worked some more on the deck during Abigail’s nap.  We laid about 12 more boards in 3 hours.  This is a slow process to say the least!

Today we had fun and got a little more work done.  We released some butterflies, rode bikes, and did some swinging,

Nick also managed to cut the grass, trim, cut down limbs, trim some bushes, and grill food for the week.  He is awesome!

I sported this look all weekend.

I even talked him into starting a Pinterest project for me.  We didn’t get far on it, but I am excited!

I got this ready for Andrew’s LAST day of Pre-K which is on Friday!!  I am so ready for summer!!!

Maybe then I can enjoy the view from my deck.

Right now we are looking like this!

4 more days till summer break! I think I can, I think I can!

What’s been happening

Is May over yet?!  I know I should not wish time away, but end of the school year is approaching!  There are so many things planned at school right now.  This week I had my end of the year program for my students.  It was so cute and adorable!  We stressed so much, but the parents loved it!  Thursday, I took a personal day and joined Andrew for his very last field trip in Pre-K.  It was so much fun!  Andrew, Nick, and I have been battling with allergies lately.  Andrew’s eyes get red and swollen when he is outside too long.  The bus ride did him in!  He rubbed the entire time we were at the zoo.  We ended up leaving right before lunch.  We made a quick stop, ate, and headed home.

Andrew had T-ball practice Monday, his first game Tuesday (which I missed )Sad smile), and pictures on Thursday.  He is loving it, but mommy is tired!

Wednesday was the only day that we had nothing after school.  We enjoyed playing outside and looking at caterpillars!

Now on to a 3 day weekend!!! I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend!

Abigail’s 2nd birthday

This sweet girl turned 2 on Saturday!

We had a fun time celebrating her birthday!  Friday, we decided to give her a present from us.  It was her very first Cabbage Patch Doll!  These dolls were my favorite as a child!

On Saturday, we met up with some of Abigail’s best friends! We visited the Greenville Zoo and had a great time!

We then headed to Build a Bear!  This was Andrew and Abigail’s first time and they loved it!

Today we celebrated Abigail and Nana’s (Nick’s grandmother) birthdays.  Nana’s birthday is Monday, so it was a joint celebration!

She had a wonderful birthday!!
