How I Blog???

I have received some comments/emails from several people about how I blog. In particular people want to know HOW in the world do I have time to post almost daily. How am I posting at 8am?
Here is the low down…I will not sound so impressive once I tell! LOL! I RARELY post during the week, like almost never. I work full time (teacher), with a almost 3 year old, one on the way, and a husband. There is no way I could possibly manage that. I leave at five till 7am every morning and take Andrew to the sitters and arrive at work by 7:20. Students are in my room at 7:40. Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays I leave work at 4: 00 or 4:15. Tuesdays I teach after school till 5:30 and Wednesday are school meetings till 4:30. I then fly over and pick up Andrew. I go home and run around like a mad woman trying to get ready for the next day, cook supper (if Nick is working late), and rest my very swollen feet for maybe 10 mins. We play with Andrew either outside or in is playroom. Then we all take baths at night and then I usually watch one show and hit the sack. Boring right? Well obviously there is little time for blogging, but I somehow post almost daily.
Here is the secret! I post everything on Saturday or Sunday! On one of those days when Andrew is napping (he usually naps for 3 to 3 1/2 hours) I write all the post of the week and schedule them for different days and times. Easy! Of course this is not something I would do if I didn’t enjoy it. I enjoying creating, blogging, and seeking out crafty things. My interest in it makes it fun and worth spending my precious nap time. All of my crafty is most definitely done on the weekends. If you noticed I do not attempt complicated or timely task. I just don’t have the time or patience!
I hope that has shed some light! I am in no way a super woman who manages to have it all together. I know once the baby comes you may never hear from me again! Kidding! Maybe… Anyway we are all just doing the best we can as parents and I am constantly trying not to fail.

Nursery Progress

We have made some small strides in the nursery and I am getting so excited about the finished product! We took a trip to Target this weekend and I found a few things for the room and ALL of Andrew’s birthday paper products. Score! The glider and crib should be ready for pick up this week. It is all starting to come together.

I found this adorable picture!!

and these black out curtains…this room gets a ton of sunlight during the day. Sun plus sleeping baby does not mix! The print actually has polka dots circles on it in the same color. We also got a valance for a small window in the room.

The Pottery Barn bedding came and it is just perfect! I love patchwork quilt look!

We still need to find a dresser (hopefully older that I can redo) and an end table to put beside the glider for those late night feedings. I hope everyone’s week is starting off on the right foot! My feet are in a very swollen state at the moment! Ugh!

Teacher Binder Organization

Hello all teacher readers!! I rarely post about treachery things. However, the other day when I was looking at my stats and such I noticed that my TOP post of all time was my classroom tour. Wow! Who knew? Apparently there are some teachers lurking around.
This is my 7th year teaching and you would think I would finally have everything figured out. Well not in the least! Education is constantly changing and I am usually just trying to catch up. I did figure out a system for lesson plans in the last few years that really works for me.
This is what I had…functional but BORING! The binder and tab were just things I had laying around the classroom.

In comes the dollar spot at TARGET!! Yesterday, I spotted these beauties for only $1!!

I made myself a new cover….and put my weekly lessons on the cute clipboard. Now they are more readily available.

I added the new tabs for Curriculum Maps/Frameworks, Students grouping List (how I group students- ability/learning style), Benchmark Reports, Student List- activity schedule and RTI list, and Lesson/unit Plans for previous weeks.

I love having everything in one place. It is really great to bring to parent conferences, RTI meetings, and weekly faculty meetings.
All neatly placed in my fun 31 Christmas gift!

Chalkboard Paint + Clay Pot = Fun Storage!

This was such a fun and easy project that I have been wanting to make for months. I used clay pots for decoration at Andrew’s first birthday party and have had them collecting dirt in the garage ever since. I already had chalkboard paint, so this was the obvious solution! I just sprayed the pots with the spray paint. I then painted the rim and decorative with polka dots! The green one is being used to store Andrew’s crayons, colored pencils, and water paint. The two pink ones will the be used in baby girl’s room (I really need to work on a name!).

I have two more that I painted that will be used at Andrew’s birthday party! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Tomorrow I will be showing some nursery progress and a day to show some teacher things!!

Another New Look

I started the year with a fresh and simple look for this little blog, but guess what? I am apparently not simple! I just wasn’t feeling it. I am in LOVE with my new girly and more me background, header, and button!! I got it here and Alicia was such a big help. Also it was done in mere hours! You can’t beat that.What do you think?

My Little Mozart/Spin Brush!

Andrew loves playing with Grammie and Pop’s keyboard when he visits. He takes it very seriously!

About a year ago, I bought Andrew a Thomas Spin Brush. He was terrified at the time, so I put it away. I pulled it out the other day and he was SOOOO happy! As soon as he saw it he knew it was a Spin Brush (I guess from commercials). He brushed his teeth for probably 30 mins.! He even flossed! Such a big boy!

Girly Nursery

I had such a great time planning Andrew’s nursery and I can’t wait to start delving into this baby girl’s nursery.
Let’s take a walk down memory lane and check out Andrew’s old nursery. Ahhh…Memories!

You can see Andrew’s big boy room here. Andrew moved into our old Master Bedroom several months ago and his new sister will take this room. We are leaving the paint the same because I think the green with pink will be cute and it looks basically untouched. So, here is what the NEW nursery will look like.
I spent WAY too much money on Andrew’s furniture/crib and the quality has not been worth the money we spent. I decided to go low cost, but still very cute this time around.
We bought this crib…Wal-Mart-$129

this glider…I didn’t have a rocker/glider in Andrew’s room when he was a baby, but I this will be a must now that most of the house is now downstairs and she will be upstairs.
Walmart- $134 with ottoman

I splurged with the bedding from Pottery Barn…I made a HARD decision (it really shouldn’t have been) to not buy the bumper. Bumpers are not recommended and even banned in some cities because of the suffocation risk. Why risk it? It is so cute though! So I just bought the sheets, quilt, and pretty girly skirt.

I also ordered these ADORABLE owls from pottery barn.

I am loving the green and pink! I can’t wait for everything to start coming in! We are also looking for a small table to put beside the chair and a dresser to turn into a changing table. I want something I can refinish and paint. Projects!

Stay with me…These are some things that I would like to do or buy in the upcoming months.

Rainy Weekend

In the south, we have been blasted with rain all weekend. It was so yucky yesterday, so we only left the house for a quick trip to the grocery store. I spent the rest of the day cleaning catching up on laundry (still not done!). Today I have a children’s committee meeting at church at 9 and then was the volunteer for the week in the nursery. Andrew had a lot of fun playing for a couple of hours. It is always interesting for me to watch him interact with other children. One little girl (a little over a year old) kept walking up to him and hitting him. I was so happy to see that he just looked at her and said, “Don’t hit…” in a nice tone and walked away. I am sure he will have to get use to this and it is good to see he didn’t slug her back!
Last night we made a yummy Pinterest supper at home. We usually eat out on Saturdays, but it was nice to just be at home.
These are the only ingredients…and it was so yummy. Basically it taste like chicken wings without the mess of bones! My kind of meal. You just dump it all in the crockpot and pull apart an hour before eating and cook a little longer. We had ours on buns, but later in the week we are going to have quesadillas with the leftovers. YUM!

Seasonal Book Baskets

I LOVE books! Being a teacher, do I really have a choice? All joking aside, I really do love to read myself and especially to Andrew. Through the course of a normal day we at least read 3-4 books-every day. Because I am a teacher I have a ton of books. I buy most books through Scholastic book orders that come out at school. You can find CHEAP seasonal books and classics. Most of Andrew’s books are upstairs in his playroom, but a select few seasonal and old favorites are kept downstairs next to the recliner (great reading spot). I love this idea!

This was Andrew’s Christmas/Winter Books and Basket.

I have weeded out the Christmas books and added in Spring, Valentine’s, St.Patrick’s, Groundhog Day, and a few Easter Books. I also keep in favorites, coloring books, and flash cards.

Christmas Card Album

What do you do with all of your Christmas cards from year to year? I hate to throw these in a drawer because they are all so darn cute. This year I decided to start a tradition of saving the cards and pulling them out every Christmas to reminisce.
I hole punched all the cards and placed them on a ring (easily found at Wal-Mart/Target or Office Supply stores). I then added a cover with the year. I used Picnik, but you have to have the Premium version for the fancy collage that I used. It literally took 5 mins. from start to finish. It would be even cuter to hand make the cover, but WHO has time for that? Not me!
I plan on adding a cute bow or something extra…

So, how do you store your cards?

White is the new Black

Is it just me or was I the only one who bought a ton or dark and black furniture a few years ago? At the time I loved it and still do, but I really wanting some more white in the house.

For instance, Andrew’s toy shelf.

So, I have been doing some shopping for the new baby. With a boy you really have to search for the cute clothes, but with a girl they are EVERYWHERE! I could get in trouble! I am loving all the cute Spring/Summer dresses and onsies. The last outfit is my absolute favorite! I bought it in newborn (Andrew wore newborn for at least a month) just so she could wear it right away! So cute!!

Does anyone in blog land know of any website, Etsy shops, or stores that sale cute headbands/hats?

Iron-on Transfer Graphics

Two post in one day?? I know, but I have to when I have time. Day off and Andrew napping equals TIME! Precious time!

As you are full aware, I am loving me some Picnik!! I decided to make some simple graphics to iron on to shirts for Andrew and little sister (yeah we need to work on a name). They turned out really cute!

Daddy’s Girl (not shown above, below)

I flipped the words, so it would correct on the transfer (you can do this on Picnik). I then did a test print to check sizes and cut out my graphics. By the way, I bought the transfer Avery paper from Wal-Mart.

I ironed on top of an old pillow case slowly while applying pressure and VOILA! I only had these shirts, so some will be left for later. Andrew’s shirt was a test run for his birthday (Pirate Theme!). I am thinking I will make the graphic much bigger!

I will be buying a new shirt for the real shirt. Notice the nice stain to the left!

Enjoy! I am sure I will be making more in the future. Any ideas for subject matter?

21 and 22 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along: 21 and 22 weeks- I am actually 21 1/2 right now, but I knew I wouldn’t have time at the end of the week.
Size of baby: 21 (length of a carrot) and 22 (length of a spaghetti squash) weeks
Gender: GIRL!! This has synched in more and I am SUPER excited!!!
Maternity Clothes: mostly maternity-Have you SEEN this belly?
Weight Gain: probably around 12-14 lbs. I goes up and down daily or hourly…lol!
Movement: I am feeling her move all the time very low.
Sleep: I sleep okay, but I have to turn over all the time because of back pain and of course I get up a few times to use the bathroom.
Symptoms: The acid reflux has disappeared! I still have lower back pain at the very end of the day. My feet and hands have started to swell on occasion. I have removed my engagement ring already. So sad! The swelling is actually better this time around. My feet were swollen from 4 months till a month after with Andrew every day. I have more energy and feel great for the most part!
Cravings: This has remained about the same. I thirsty ALL the time and started really wanting a very cold fruit smoothie. YUM!
Best moment this week: Buying my first baby girl clothes and planning the nursery!

Independent Andrew

The idea of having two children keeps entering my mind. I am so excited for this new adventure,but anxious at the same time. I have really recently tried to make Andrew more independent. He has actually responded very well and is constantly saying “I want to do it all by myself!” He seriously says this ALL day. So, obviously he is wanted to take this step also. Just for my own records I have made a list of his independent task at almost 3 years old. I am so proud of him!

-Can put on and take off his shoes.

-Can take off his coat, pants, underwear, and socks.

-Climb into the bathtub.

-Use the potty from start to finish.(#1)

-Get his toothbrush, apply toothpaste, brush (I go back over just to make sure), rinse, and put away.

-Throws the leftovers from his plate and puts it in the dishwasher.

-Put in his own DVD’s.

-Climb into his car seat.

I am sure I am leaving something off and hopefully he will be doing even more before little sister arrives!

Even though he is Mr.Independent…

Homemade Valentine’s

I love the idea of homemade Valentine’s, but not in love with the time that is usually involved. I wanted to do something really cute for Andrew to bring to his babysitter’s and friends for Valentine’s Day. I came across this on good ole’ Pinterest and created my own version using Picnik. I have been going Picnik crazy lately! I have more projects in the works!

*For some reason it is showing a grayish background, but the actual sticker does not have this.*
I am going to stick this a bag of goldfish. Easy and cute! I plan on making the bags this Monday on my day off. With Andrew’s birthday fast approaching, I know I will not have time later.
Steps:
1)Either copy and paste mine to Picnik and make your changes or create your own. A great tutorial for making similar things can be found here.
2) Save picture and open with Microsoft Word to resize and make a sheet.

3) Print on sticker paper.

4) Cut out and enjoy!

Winter Coffee Filter Wreath

Winter can be kind of depression, right? Well I thought I would make something cheerful to hang during the cold winter months.I made a simple coffee filter wreath awhile back for our bedroom door and thought I would take it a step forward.

This was a very cheap project (I like those!). All you need is a grapevine wreath, spray paint (opitonal), coffee filters, and a glue gun. I bought my wreath from the Dollar Tree and I didn’t care for the natural color, hence the spray paint.

When you are finished you will see very little of the wreath, so my spray paint job was quick and obviously doesn’t cover the entire surface.

To make a “flower”, first stack up 2-4 filters and fold into thirds.

Do this again, and glue them together to for a large “flower.”

Glue the this onto the wreath and repeat many times.

Eventually you will get this, but notice the bare spots? I just filled them in with smaller “flowers.”

End product! I LOVE it! The top decorative accent was from a gift I received at Christmas years ago. Of course you could do a ribbon or something else.

19 and 20 Weeks

1st Day Back/Labels

Man am I exhausted!! Today was my first day back after 2 1/2 weeks off and I am feeling it! I am so tired, but the day flew by and the kids were great!
I have been going a little label crazy around the house when I discovered these! The FREE programmable labels are from Better Homes and Garden. They are so easy to use and obviously I can’t get enough. I am literally looking for things to label.

Then I was so inspired that I made my own to for Andrew’s toys. I just made these on Microsoft word and played around with the size until they fit.

If you search the internet and Pinterest you can find even more cute free printables. I have my eye on a few more!

Paint Chip Calendar

I am so excited to reveal my first Pinterest 2012 January project!! With a new year comes a new calendar and this is not your ordinary calendar! I wanted something large and in charge. I wanted something that would allow for me to write down more than one thing on a certain day and something that the whole family could use. I stumbled upon this inspirational Pinterest post and knew I HAD to make one of my own.
I got lucky with this project because I only had to buy a 50 cent poster. Luckily the paint chips were free (I felt very guilty to taking so many) and I already had a frame. Nonetheless this is still a very frugal project.
Materials:
Poster board or the paper that come with the frame will do.

Paint chips (I used 28 in blue and green tones), glue gun

and frame of course. I went with a large frame!

First set your chips out in your desired layout. I am in LOVE with the colors I choose!

You could get all crazy and measure, but I do not have the patient so I just eyeballed it. I then hot glued them down leaving some space in between.

TA-DAH! Put it in a frame and your done!

Dry Erase markers work wonderfully on glass!

I wrote the days of the week at the top.

I placed this in my kitchen next to the pantry.

It was hard to get a clear picture because of the lighting.

There are so many possibilities with this project. You could make the chips smaller and add a to-do list on the side. This would be great in an office or child’s room. I am totally making one of these for school in the fall. I hope you all enjoyed my first project of the year!

A New Year and a New Look

I decided to give my blog a little makeover. I decided to go with a more cleaner and simpler look than the scrapbook look I have been sporting. I am actually loving it! I am still playing around with a new title, but I can’t think of anything creative. Any suggestions?

Nick and I had a great time on our little date. We don’t go out alone as often as we probably should. The alone time was so nice, even though I missed Andrew like crazy! Mission Impossible was a great action movie that kept me on my toes, or maybe that was the stabbing pain in my bladder and tailbone. Hmm…

Anyway…I am loving all of the free printable on Pinterest! I believe I have found one for almost every holiday. I printed the New Years one today! You can find it here. As you can tell I went ahead and printed out the Valentine’s one also. So cute!!

Anyone else SUPER excited about The Bachelor coming on tonight?? I have to admit it is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. The girls are insanely crazy to be on the show and act the way they do, but I can’t stop watching!

Off to enjoy one of the few days I have left before work begins! YIKES!

I hope everyone had a great ring into the new year! We had a busy day yesterday. We started the day off at Nick’s parents. Nick’s dad’s birthday was yesterday, so we celebrated by opening presents bright and early. We then headed over to celebrate Claire’s 1st birthday. I wish I would have taken pictures! The décor was so cute!!! Andrew had a blast and fell asleep on the way home.

Nick and I then scrambled around to get food and the house ready for friends to come over and celebrate the new year. We had a Mexican themed dinner that was so yummy!! Andrew got to play with his friends and just had a blast. I did manage to take some pictures of Andrew and Dylan. It was such a nice day!

With kids in tow everyone was gone by 8:00. We are not the partiers we use to be and I am just fine with that! Nick and I watched a few musical performances and crashed by 10. I know…I know we are some wild ones!

We started the first day of 2012 by going to church. Andrew was so excited!! We could not get there fast enough. We haven’t been able to go in the last few weeks because of the holiday craziness, but I hope 2012 brings more Sundays like this.

Nick and I are off for dinner, movie, and much needed alone time. So excited!! Thanks to Nick’s mom for keeping our precious boy!

More projects

I saw this idea on none other that Pinterest! It was so simple and easy.
I had these two frames from Goodwill ($1.50 each) and spray painted them white.

Removed the mats and added scrapbook paper (of course!) and hot glued clips. I thought this would be great for hanging up pictures of projects I would like to complete. Simple and cheap! My kind of project!

I know I keep changing the office pictures, but I just can’t seem to get it just like I like it. Hopefully Nick will finish the one countertop soon!

I am addicted to Pinterest!! I know I am not alone. I have found TONS of things to use in my classroom. It makes so excited to even think about some of the things I will be using very soon!

Simple and Clean

I LOVE the holidays! Doesn’t everyone? What I do not like is the clutter. Yesterday, Nick and I took down all the Christmas décor. I LOVED it, but enough was enough. I wanted to change the look of my living room a little and go with more of a simple and clean look. I have a lot of dark colors going on I the room with the furniture, so I needed some colors to brighten and lighten up the space.

Winter Entry Table: I am shopping around for a mirror to go over the table. I also HATE that cord hanging down. I thinking of a large basket to cover it and have room for blankets.

This organic prints were printed off the internet and the corks were moved from the kitchen. The coral was from our honeymoon in Miami.

The star plate was a wedding gift and was originally in our bathroom.

I then decided to tackle our bed. We have had a duvet cover on the bed since we changed rooms and it is driving both of us bonkers! The inside comforter constantly fell to the bottom. It was a nightmare to sleep with. So, I bought a basic blanket and along with NEW sheets (Thanks Trish) changed it from this:

To this! I just used the duvet cover at the end of the bed and nicely tucked the blanket and sheets under the mattress.

LOVE! Obviously the small pillows were moved to the living room after this shoot.

I also “stole” this picture frame from the living room bookcase and replace it with MORE scrapbook paper.

I cold really get use to this 2 1/2 weeks of being a SAHM. I can get so much done during nap time!

Christmas 2011

We ate (a lot!), opened tons presents, and enjoyed time with family. It was a great Christmas!!
Andrew woke up at 5:45am (which is his normal time) and was stunned to see that Santa FINALLY came. He was so precious opening all of his presents and saying “wow” every time. Just so I will remember he got a bucket of dinosaurs, bucket of pretend food, play pots and pans (he is really into cooking), a work bench that was full of tools, and truck just like daddy’s! He also got stocking suffers: Cars 2 and New How to Train a Dragon movie (watched 5 times already!), candy, 3 trucks, and a fishing game.

This was waiting in the garage! He was SOOO excited! It was freezing and barley daylight, but he didn’t care!

He has already mastered putting the truck in forward and reverse. He was hilarious driving! We had to put it in the fastest mode to drive on the gravel and he was flying! He kept turning around to smile and wave instead of watching where he was going. Luckily we live on a open field, so no worries.

We had Nick’s parents, brother, grandmother, and my parents over for a late breakfast. The food was so good! Breakfast food is my favorite! Later that night we went over to Nick’s parents to have Christmas with them. More pics to come!

Christmas with the Cobb’s

Last Sunday, we had Christmas with my mom, dad, 2 sisters, and their kids. We always have the best time when we get together! It is a house full (13 in all), but tons of fun. I never take enough pictures because there is just so much going on. This is what I did take:

16, 17, and 18 Weeks

Obviously I am not getting around to doing these weekly, but at least I am doing them somewhat often! Right?

Pregnancy Highlights: I am definitely looking pregnant now and I feel like I am also! HA!

How Far Along: 16, 17, and 18 weeks

Size of baby: 16 (avocado), 17(turnip), and 18 (bell pepper) weeks

Gender: I will find out Jan.5th!

Maternity Clothes: all maternity expect some shirts

Weight Gain: probably around 10 lbs.

Movement: I have definitely felt some slight movements!

Sleep: I sleep okay, but I have to turn over all the time because of back pain and of course I get up a few times to use the bathroom.

Symptoms: The headaches have continued. I have had some indigestions and acid reflux. Thankfully this is very random and not very often. I am continuing to have back pain if I sit or do too much. This sounds like I am in a lot of pain, but honestly I am feeling pretty good!

Cravings: My carvings are about the same. I still love anything cold! I am very thirsty all the time!

Best moment this week: Getting to spend some precious one on one time with Andrew. I know this time will be limited soon.

Another Goodwill Post

I was able to talk Nick into stopping by the Goodwill once again. I picked up this frame with intentions of making it a chalkboard, but that didn’t happen. It is a long story and I am too upset to talk about it. HA!

Here is the before (only $4!!): I kind of felt bad for the hard work that someone put into the cross-stitch…almost.

I gave the glass and frame a quick cleaning…Yuck!

Sanded the frame and wiped clean….

This picture frame had two mats inside (score!). Obviously the brown was not going to work, so I simply flipped it over and now we have white!

I just used $25 cent scrapbook paper to finish off the look. I LOVE IT!

I also spray painted the magnetic memo board to match. Notice something else?

I bought the perfect size chalkboard for the lamp. Maybe this will encourage mother nature to get with it!

SO many people have asked me how this pregnancy is different and if I want a boy or girl. I thought I would answer those questions on here, so one day I could look back and remember.

To begin with this pregnancy has been similar to my first pregnancy, but everything is happening WAY sooner! I was in maternity clothes sooner, the back pain is crazy (and this didn’t happen till much later), and the lovely acid reflux has begun! I told Nick that he may be rolling me around in a wheel chair by the end. I honestly am scared to know how I am going to feel toward the end. There have also been some differences. My skin was very prone to breaking out with Andrew and this time around my skin is super clear (THANK YOU LORD!), I have killer headaches almost daily, I have many food aversions, and I am way more tired this time around (could it be the toddler running around the house?). So there is the answer in a nutshell!

On to the most asked question! Honestly, I have always dreamed of having a little girl. I really look forward to all the things we could do together when she is older. However, the more and more I think about it I would really be content to have another boy. Andrew has been a dream and just a blast! I would love for him to have someone close to grow up with. Of course I do believe this happens with different gender siblings also, so you see either way I am HAPPY! The BIG question will be answered on Jan. 5th at 4:00!! Stay tuned!

What a Deal!

Last weekend my sisters, nieces, mother, and myself went on our annual shopping trip. We had such a good time! I managed to talk everyone into stopping by a Goodwill store. I am still trying to decorate my office/craft room. I really don’t want to spend much money, so this was the logical stop. I really lucked up and found some great deals. My I can talk Nick into stopping by again today???

Below I bought the wicker trash can (SO shabby chic!) for $1, the 2 white small lamps for $4 each, and the taller lamp (with a stand!) for $1.50! I also bought some picture frames, but I will post on those later. All they needed was a fresh coat of white spray paint and some $4 dollar shades.

I used a primer/spray paint in one and it worked so well. I plan on using these two in the nursery.

This was is for the office. I bought a chalk board to put on the ledge, but it was too big. I am going to go back for the smaller one. I think it will be so cute to write notes on or to-do list.

I did cover the some parts while painting.

I LOVE this little lamp!

On other subject, I am off work for 2 1/2 weeks!!!! I am sure you will be hearing a lot more from me!

Weekend Update

We had a great weekend! Saturday we headed to Anderson to watch Arthur's Christmas. It was such a cute movie and Andrew loved it! He did get a little antsy before it started because they probably showed 15 mins. of previews! We left the movie and ate quickly at Chic-fi-la. On the way home Andrew feel asleep and missed all the beautiful Christmas lights.

Sunday we went to Pancakes with Santa at church. Andrew LOVES Santa! He has been talking about sitting on his lap for days. He told him he wanted a truck just like daddy’s and a trailer. Ha! He also decided talking to him one time was not enough, so he went back for visit number 2!

14 and 15 Weeks

Symptoms: I have started having intense headaches which I am sure is from hormones and the craziness at work lately. Other than that I am feeling good!

Cravings: My carvings are about the same. I still love anything cold! I am very thirsty all the time!

Best moment this week: My upcoming doctor’s apt so I can hear the little ones heartbeat and schedule the BIG ultrasound.

Progress-Craft Room/Office Makeover

We are slowly making a little headway on MY craft room/office. This space used to be our old kitchen, so it is full of cabinets (storage!), but it needed some work.

The computer has been located on the bar, which worked out fine.

But…we had this gapping hole where the stove used to be located. So, we figured it would be a great place for computer shelf.

Thanksgiving and Black Friday

We had a great Thanksgiving filled with family and food. It doesn’t get much better than that! We went to my parents and celebrated with my side of the family. We had a ton of great food!

Andrew had such a great time playing with his cousins!

I failed to take many pictures. I guess the food kept me occupied.

My mom, sister, and I headed out at 7 am on Friday to find some deals. We really found everything we were looking for and I am so glad we went when we did. I do not want to fight anyone over ANYTHING! The stores were not crowded at all. Look at the truck!

I hope everyone has a peaceful and relaxing weekend. It will be back to work before we know it!

Thankful

I hope everyone is have a thankful Thanksgiving! I have so many things to be thankful for this year.

For starters, I am very thankful for a wonderful husband. He is always there for me and is the best father!

I am thankful for my sweet Andrew. I could not have dreamed of a better child. He is polite, funny, smart, and so loving! He has started giving me nose kisses (he rubs our noses together and then wants me to kiss his nose). Can this age last FOREVER!

I am so very thankful to blessed with another pregnancy. I continue to pray for a safe and noneventful pregnancy!

I am very thankful for my family. My side, Nick’s side, and friends that feel like family. They make my days happy and they are always there for my little family.

Last, but not least, I am thankful for my faith in God. He has never steered me wrong and is such an important part of my life.

I hope everyone is thankful today and everyday!

11, 12, and 13 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 11, 12, and, 13 weeks

Size of baby: 11 (fig), 12 (lime), and 13 (medium shrimp) weeks

Gender: ??? I will not find out till 20 weeks..boo!

Maternity Clothes: Maternity pants and some shirts.

Weight gain: 5 lbs

Movement: I SWEAR I feel something, but I logically know it is too early. However, I know what the early feelings are and I am pretty I have experienced it a few times. Just saying…

Sleep: I am still going to sleep early and have started waking up and having to walk around. It is almost like restless leg syndrome. I literally feel like I have to get up and move. I had this with Andrew also. I also had 2 panic attacks during the night when I was pregnant before and I pray that does not happen again!

Symptoms: My energy during the day is back to normal. I do have back and hip pain on days were I physically have to do a lot. I did not have this with Andrew till much later. I frequently visit the restroom, which is very normal.

Cravings: Anything cold! I could drink milk and orange juice all day nonstop! I have very little appetite around dinner. Lunch is my big meal for sure! With Andrew I could eat nonstop and anything (especially red meat). I have way more food aversions this time around. I am not a big fan of red meat or pork. Some things make me sick to even think about.

Best moment this week: Having more energy during the day is a huge plus!

What we have been up to and Andrew’s Christmas Tree

Wow, it has been awhile. I guess life can do that sometimes. I am enjoying my week off and loving all the time I get to spend with Andrew. He is changing so much and I hate that I don’t spend this much time with him everyday.

Nick and I managed to buy all of Andrew Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers last weekend. We also purchased a few things online for others and are well on our way to being finished! We tend to be last minute shoppers, so we are doing great! My mom and I are going out on Black Friday, so maybe I can finish the rest then. Either that or we will be trampled!

Yesterday I managed to put up all 3 of our Christmas trees! Yes 3! I have always dreamed of going all out for Christmas, but we never had the space. With our addition, I now able to decorate the way I have always wanted to. Andrew is very much into Christmas! I have already read A Night Before Christmas 20 times. Christmas is my favorite holiday, so I am glad he shares this with me!

I put Andrew’s tree up with his assistance of course! I found this tree after Christmas last year for $5! It is very thin and scraggly, but Andrew could care less! In the past, he had a small tabletop tree, but his ornament collection keeps growing. Here is the new one!

The tree is upstairs in his playroom. I used a blue theme and it turned out so cute!

I was playing Pandora (LOVE!) in the background and he started dancing up a storm! I only got one decent picture!

29-32 Months

Wow, so it has been awhile since I have updated Andrew’s stats. Obviously he is not changing every month like he was when he was little, but I still want to be able to look back and remember when…

Clothes: all 2T pants and shirts and size 7 shoe

Food: Still picky and is not the best eater. He has gone through a few spells of wanting to eat constantly and then weeks of not wanting to eat much at all. I am sure it is growth spurts. He still loves milk (he would drink it all day if I would like him), yogurt, grilled cheese, breakfast bars, apples, grapes, crackers, chicken, fries, mac and cheese, spaghetti, and cheese. He drinks 2 cups of milk and 3 cups of half juice and half water (sometimes more).

Motor Skills: getting better at pedaling a tricycle and everything is about the same.

Sleep: He is taking one 2-3 hour nap everyday at around noon. He goes to sleep promptly at 8:30 and wakes around 6. This has been the same for quiet a while. We read a story before bed every night. My favorite part!

Talking: Talks constantly and beginning to say hard words like Tyrannosaurus Rex. He knows most uppercase letters, says the alphabet, counts to 15, knows all shapes, and a few colors (green, purple, pink).

Teeth: No 2 year molars yet! Loves to brush his teeth all by himself and does a pretty good job!

Interest: machines, vehicles, tools, stars and moon, dinosaurs, puzzles, books, painting, trains, and playing outside.

Potty Training: was officially trained at 30 months (2 and 1/2) and we have had very few accidents. He was having number 2 accidents at the baby sitters for awhile, but he has stopped that and doing great!

Andrew is such a sweetheart! He hugs and kisses all the time. He loves to snuggle and tells Nick and I that he love us constantly. He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body! He is shy around strangers, but tends to warm up quickly. He still loves being on the go and riding in the car. He is such a blessing and is going to make a great big brother!

Big Boy Room

Today I took a personal day! Andrew’s babysitter was unable to keep him today, so I jumped on the chance to spend the day with Andrew. Don’t you love days that you have off and no one is sick? LOVE!

I spent a majority of the day putting the final touches to Andrew’s big boy room. We are going to use his old room for the nursery and he is now in our old master bedroom. We decided to keep the colors the same. We already had the paint and it went with his current bedding. I was a little worried at first, but it worked out in the end.

Andrew now, finally, has a closet. His room actually has 2, but the other will be used for the new baby. I am still working on the closet, but this is it so far. I just cleaned out all his summer clothes and now he is left with very little. We plan on doing some shopping this weekend. Look at all those baby blankets!

As you can tell we have rugs galore! One thing we really needed to do was replace the carpet, but we will have to live with rugs right now!

I plan on replacing some of the knickknacks with more age appropriate things over time.

Another to do item is new blinds and curtains.

And lastly we have to return the TV that is currently in our bedroom. I honestly don’t think he will be using it very often, but there are holes!

Happy Halloween

We had a great Halloween! This year Andrew has been really into dinosaurs and can even name 4 or 5 of them. So, obviously he was a DINOSAUR, a T-Rex to be exact.

Right before we headed out…

Then we stopped at Nick’s great uncle’s and then to my sister’s….

We then headed to our town’s Monster Mash…I have to admit, it was a huge disappointment. There were too many people and nothing he could really do. I think we will be skipping out for a few years. We did ride the train, which was the highlight of this train lovers night!

9 and 10 Weeks

I decided to combine week 9 and 10 because they would both contain the same information and it is faster!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 9 and 10 weeks

Size of baby: Size of a grape (9 weeks) and a kumquat (10 weeks)

Gender: ???

Maternity Clothes: All maternity pants (mainly because I already had them and they are so comfortable! I am wearing a few shirts.

Weight gain: 3-5 lbs…or close to it. My weight always fluctuates between a few pounds, so it is hard to tell.

Movement: None, but I can’t wait.

Sleep: I am falling asleep most nights before 9:00…I literally cannot make myself stay up any later. I have started using a body pillow to help with some back pain.

Symptoms: My energy level hits rock bottom around 6. My appetite is fine during the day, but in the evening nothing sounds good. I have started have back pain during the evenings also (thank goodness for a heating pad).

Cravings: Subway sandwiches, orange juice, fruit, and milk

Best moment this week: seeing my belly grow! I had to wait much longer with Andrew, but this time around it is growing like crazy!

My little peanut

Monday I went in for another doctor’s appointment and my first ultrasound. With Andrew I remember being so excited for the first ultrasound. Of course I was this time, but now I have more knowledge about all the things that could go wrong. I just wanted to see a healthy baby! Thank the lord everything was perfect! We could see the little peanut’s arms and legs moving and the heart beating. The heart beat was 183 bpm and Andrew was 176 bpm around the same time. The ultrasound technician and doctor said everything was perfect. The ultrasound due date said May 21st, but the doctor said may 24th was more accurate. So, at the moment I am 9 weeks!

8 Weeks

Symptoms: Nausea is completely gone unless I go too long without eating. My energy level is okay during the day, but from the time I get home till I go to bed I am whipped out!

Cravings: Subway sandwiches, orange juice, and milk

Pumpkin Patch

I am so far behind of documenting so many things. So, you will see several post today and tomorrow. I have had ZERO energy after work. I have hardly even got on the internet all week. Anyway, 2 weeks ago we joined some friends at the Denver Downs Pumpkin Patch. We had a TON of fun!

Lastly we went on the hay ride around the farm and picked out 2 pumpkins! Andrew had so much fun! We can’t wait till next year!

7 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights: Yes I am beginning to show! I knew things would happen sooner with the second, but I didn’t think it would be this soon.

How Far Along: 7 weeks (actually I will be 8 weeks tomorrow)

Size of baby: Size of a blueberry

Gender: ???

Maternity Clothes: Since I am ALREADY showing (CRAZY!), I am wearing maternity pants some. I wear the belly band with some pants also. All my shirts are regular for now.

Weight gain: 3 lbs…or close to it. My weight always fluctuates between a few pounds, so it is hard to tell.

Movement: None, but I can’t wait.

Sleep: I am sleeping well, but getting up often to use the bathroom. (about 2 or 3 times)

Symptoms: The day after my 6 week post, I began having 24 hour nausea. It didn’t matter how much I ate, I would be sick. It was terrible! However, since week 7 most of it has subsided. I am still sick in the mornings until I eat. This is very similar to how I was with Andrew. I also still use the bathroom often and I am absolutely EXHAUSTED!!! Having a toddler does not give me time to ever rest. This is the hardest part so far!

Cravings: Anything cold!

Best moment this week: Going on vacation with my little family!

Pigeon Forge

Hello everyone! I am still alive! I have been so disconnected with the internet world. We left last Saturday for Pigeon Forge and got back Tuesday. We had such a great time with our friends Ed, Kim, and Claire Hoy! Warning: This is going to be a LONG post with TONS of pictures.

Day 1-Saturday:

We left bright and early Saturday morning. We stopped for a quick breakfast and proceeded to stop at almost every town from Hartwell to Pigeon Forge. NO kidding! Andrew wanted to check out every restroom! Anyway, we had a great trip up the mountains and Andrew slept for about 45 mins. The closer we got to our location the colder it got!

We arrived around lunch and Ed and Kim met us at Arby’s for a quick lunch. Then we followed them up the windy and scary ride up the mountain to our cabin. We were up very high and the views were beautiful!

We got the car unpacked and let Andrew and I take a nap before heading back out. We then headed to Dolly Wood!

The park was decorated so beautifully for the fall!

We then headed to the train!! Andrew was so excited! However, it was very cold!

We left the park (we got the 2nd day free) after a few hours and headed to dinner at Johnny Carino’s .

Day 2- Sunday:

We left early Sunday morning for round two of Dolly Wood. This day was full of rides! Andrew and Claire rode everything they could ride for their height. I was so proud of how willing Andrew was to ride anything!

I did not get to ride anything with Andrew, but he enjoyed spending time with Daddy!

We ate lunch at the park and then headed back to the cabin for long naps! We then headed to dinner at the Old Mill. We went early, so we did have to wait at all!

After a very filling dinner, we headed to the nearby candy, toy, and ice cream shops!

Day 3-Monday

Monday was Ed and Kim’s last day.

After a pancake breakfast, we headed to the Aquarium in Gatlinburg.

Andrew was tired throughout the whole Aquarium, but he seemed to enjoy it.

We headed back to the cabin for naps and Ed and Kim headed home…

Later we went to play putt-putt! We had no idea that this particular course took you on a train ride to the top! Andrew was so happy!

We spent the rest of our last day just relaxing and enjoying the views!

Both of the views were from our balcony! We had such a great time!

* NO I am not showing yet…this is just my normal stomach!

Pregnancy Highlights: I had my first doctor’s appointment. It was nothing to exciting, but the first ultrasound was scheduled for Oct. 17th!!

How Far Along: 6 weeks

Size of baby: Size of a lentil

Gender: ???

Maternity Clothes: Not yet…I did wear the belly band once this week with some pants that were already a little tight. I have to say it was so aggravating. I had to keep pulling on it all day!

Weight gain: 0 lbs…or close to it. My weight always fluctuates between a few pounds, so it is hard to tell.

Movement: None, but I can’t wait.

Sleep: I am sleeping well, but getting up often to use the bathroom. (about 2 or 3 times)

Symptoms: Same as last week: sore chest, frequent urination, EXHAUSTED!, and I have had some nausea. I comes in the morning randomly. Nothing too bad though.

Cravings: ANYTHING! I have been so hungry! I still love milk!

Best moment this week: Getting to finally tell everyone!

Fun at the Lake

This afternoon, my family all met up at a local lake recreation area to grill out. The weather was nice and so was the food!! Andrew had a great time playing with his cousins!

I am also going to start turning our old Master Bedroom into Andrew’s new bedroom. I LOVE new projects! I plan on keeping this project very budget friendly and use what we have when I can. We will not start this till next week, but here are the before’s!

4 and 5 weeks

Well you can start looking for this post weekly for 40 weeks! I did such a bad job of documenting my pregnancy with Andrew. I looked back through those posts and I just can’t believe how little I wrote. Beware that I am going to be very honest about how I feel. I want to be able to look back at this and remember every little stage. It may sound like complaining, but I will take every unpleasant side effect for this precious baby.

Obviously there is no baby bump, but I am sure it will not be long. I have always heard that you show way sooner after your first. Basically in this picture I am terribly bloated! LOL!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 4 and 5 weeks

Size of baby: Size of a poppy seed and then sesame seed

Gender: ???

Maternity Clothes: Not yet, I did buy a Belly Band. I didn’t use one with Andrew, but I think I might try it out this time.

Weight gain: 0 lbs, but I feel so bloated!

Movement: None

Sleep: I now get up to pee at least twice during the night. This was the first symptom I had with Andrew also.

Symptoms: I am being honest! Sore boobs, pee often, and TIRED! I fall asleep before 10 every night.

Cravings: Water and Milk (I craved Milk like CRAZY with Andrew!)

Best moment this week: Going to the doctor for my first Apt. and getting to finally tell everyone! I don’t know how some people wait so long!

3 + 1= 4

Do the Math! Yes I am expecting baby number 2!! I can’t begin to tell you how overjoyed we are to be blessed again! I went to the doctor yesterday and the estimated due date is May, 2012. This is such the perfect time for a teacher. It will be the end of the school year and I will have to only take off a week or two. I will then have the WHOLE summer to spend just being Mommy!

So here are all the details:

Nick and I decided around Christmas that we wanted to start trying for another baby at the beginning of the year. Mid January, I had the IUD removed that I have after Andrew. We actually tried not to get pregnant the first few months and then started trying around May. Well obviously the months carried on with disappointment, but I actually never let it get to me. Here I was with a beautiful 2 year old boy, what could I be upset about? Then September hit and I knew it was going to be the last month we were going to try for awhile. If I would get pregnant in Oct. or Nov. I would be due during the summer or the very beginning of the school year. Of course I would be happy either way, but the planner in me wanted to wait. I took Ovulation tests and then pregnancy tests about a 4 days before my missed period. In my mind I knew this was too early to test, but I did anyway. I even told Nick that I did not think we were ever going to have another child. I was having a pity party for sure and the first one I had would be the last! Remember my post about going to the zoo? Well after our outing, I had a feeling that I needed to take one more test. I was still not suppose to start till the next day, but I thought “what the heck!” I took one and got a very faint positive. I could see it,but Nick couldn’t. I took a more expensive early predictor test a few hours later and it was a CLEAR positive! I came downstairs and announced to Andrew, in front of Nick, that he was going to be a BIG brother!!! One of the moments I will never forget!

Do you think I went a little overboard??? You can tell the ones and the top were from the first day and were faint. The tests at the top are Wondfo brand from Amazon. They were $9 for 50!

I know I am going against the trend of waiting after the 1st trimester to tell, but I can’t hold in good news! I know things go wrong, but I would rather have people there for me then to go through it alone. So jump aboard on our new journey into parenting 2 little ones!

Tricycle and Friends

Andrew was given a small used tricycle about a year ago and has enjoyed pushing it around. His legs have always been too short to actually pedal…until the other day!!

He is pedaling downhill very well. Uphill is a lot harder when he is just learning. I am so proud of him!

Love these baby blues!

Yesterday we hosted our Friday night group with friends. We had yummy Chili and Grilled Cheese! It was perfect for the cooler weather. We had dessert, but I will share that later next week.

The kids had so much fun playing.

Andrew even took Claire and Dylan for a ride!

Claire did so well hanging on and she just smiled the whole time!

Well we are off to meet my parents in Anderson. We are taking her out for her birthday! Have a great weekend!

Lions, Tigers, and Bears…OH my!

We got up bright and early this morning and headed to The Greenville Zoo!

Here is Andrew before we left and on the way! He was so excited!

Notice the mark above his eye?? He tripped over a toy outside and hit the side of the porch! Ouch! I guess I should expect much more of this to come…

We stopped for a quick breakfast and then were on our way. The zoo did not open till 10, but they have an awesome playground. Andrew was content for an hour and a half!

Then we headed toward the zoo! We went backgrounds through the zoo and were all alone for most of the time. So peaceful!

Andrew loved this pig and the pig just snorted and snorted at him!

Off to see the alligators!

Before we drove out of the parking lot, Andrew was out. Nick and I decided to head somewhere fast and eat in the car, so he could sleep. The first smell woke him up! LOL!

So, we headed to one of my favorite home stores, Home Goods! They had so many things I wish I could have taken home, but I didn’t. I did find one thing I couldn’t leave behind!

I am in LOVE! I totally could have made this myself, but why!? This is hung in the Kitchen and it will be great to hang menus for the week and grocery list.

Andrew wanted to make something to hang! I have been teaching him how to draw a smiley face. Every time he tries he says, “ Dot (eye), Dot (eye), Dot (nose), SMILE (smile), Hair!

We are getting there!

Happy Birthday to my sister, Carrie! Also. Happy 40th Anniversary to my parents!

Southern Sisters

Farm Days

We left bright and early Saturday to go with Nick’s parents to Farm Days! This was our first year going and we had a lot of fun. It is mostly an outdoor event full of old and new tractors! Andrew was in heaven!! They also had yummy food and crafts.

We stopped by Chic-fi-la for lunch and then headed home. Andrew slept the entire way home plus two more hours at home. We wore him out!

Andrew is OFFICIALLY and completely potty trained!! We have had NO accidents in 4 days. He is sleeping at naps and night time with underwear. GOODBYE diapers!! You may be wondering how we made it traveling an hour and half and attending an outdoor event with a new potty trainer. We found something GENIUS!

This is a foldable potty seat! It folds up to about the size of a wallet. I just put it in a baggie and into the car. It was only $10 at Wal-Mart!

Potty Time

I am so excited to announce that Andrew is using the potty once again! If you remember a few months back we tried and had some success. We decided to stop when he was having very frequent accidents and crying about using the potty. On Monday, as I was changing a dirty diaper, he told me he wanted to use the potty. So I sat him on the toilet and PRESTO! It was like a light switch went off in his head. He went for the rest of the day and NIGHT with NO accidents. Tuesday we went to the babysitters and wasn’t so sure about going at her house, but he did and had NO accidents. He came home that day and had 2 accidents trying to get to the potty in time. Today he went all day for the sitter and for me!!! I am so proud of him!

I can’t say we have done too much differently this time. I really think he had to decide he wanted to do it first. We are giving a lot of praise and asking him if he needs to go often. He does get one M&M every time he goes.

I also started having him put a sticker on a simple chart I made. One box is for the potty and another is for brushing his teeth. I can easily see this turning into a chore chart later. He loves it and completely understands the concept! EASY!

We are putting him in a pull up at night only, but so far he hasn’t used the bathroom in it either. He makes me so proud!!

Girls Night Out

I am so blessed to have great friends! Friday night 3 of my good friends and I went out to eat and to see THE HELP!!! We had just enough time to drive to the Longhorn and make it to the movie on time. Even though we were a bit rushed we still had tons of fun and always had plenty to talk about.

I am not even half way through the book, but I still wanted to see the movie so bad! It did not disappoint. From what I have read, it was very close to the book. The movie was a tear jerker! I am glad I grabbed some toilet paper from the bathroom beforehand! I highly recommend the movie and the book.

Saturday we spent just hanging out at home and relaxing. Today I had nursery duty at church. I had so much fun playing with the kids and getting to watch Andrew interact with other children. I also spray painted almost everything in my house…well maybe not everything, but A LOT of stuff! I really needed to add some color into our living room and kitchen. Spaghetti

I am so happy that Andrew is beginning to try some new foods. He has recently started eating spaghetti and loves it! We had this tonight and I am so glad I decided to take his shirt off!

2 and a half wonderful years!

I have been so busy lately and the blog has been the last thing on my mind. School is always crazy the first month. We are all trying to get back in the routines and trying to teach new routines to kids is not always easy. We also had a wonderful teacher suddenly pass away and it has left a lasting impression on all of us. We defiantly appreciate each other ever more than we did before.

On the 18th, Andrew turned 2 1/2! I can’t believe how quickly time seems to slip away. I have been beyond blessed to have Andrew as my child. His personality shines more every day. He is beginning to use more imagination and pretend play which is so cute to watch. His memory is unbelievable! He literally remembers EVERYTHING! For instance, today we went to Sam’s (we have not been in over 2 months) and we went by an area that was handing out food. Before we even got close, Andrew said “They have pizza again?” He remembered getting a piece 2 months ago! He is also getting more and more into dinosaurs. He can name T-Rex (which he often calls the long name-Tyrannosaurus Rex), Stegosaurus, and Triceratops. Thank you Dino Dan!

We tried for an impromptu photo shoot and it didn’t go so well! I got a few funny ones though!

SCORE! So precious!

Fall into Pinterest

Doesn’t that title make you think of Elementary bulletin boards!? Remember this post? Well unfortunately I have not completed any of those projects!I really want to make the picture frame and plan to as soon as I can go somewhere with scrapbook paper. The others will probably not happen anytime soon!

I am already thinking about Fall decorations. Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year! I already have a ton of decorations, but Pinterest is full of so many more ideas!

First Week down!

I had a great first week back to work! My classes are just so sweet. We hit the ground running and I can tell this year is going to fly by! Ask me that in October and I may change my mind! LOL!

For the most part, Nick and I stuck to the menu and has some delicious but easy meals. I only took pictures of the stir fry dish…opps!

I only took one picture of Andrew…I can’t believe that! As you can tell two members of the family are in much need of a haircut!

We hosted Friday night with a group of friends and I only took ONE picture…what is going on? Maybe the reason is exhaustion!

This is a very random post, but oh well. Yesterday we had a laid back day. We headed to our church yard sale to show some support. We obviously were there way too late to find any treasures. They were wiped clean. The profits went toward preventing child abuse and they made over $3500! It was all put together by three middle school girls. One of which I taught! So proud of them! After that we headed to Wal-Mart (crazy place) and then home to relax. We rented Rango that evening and Andrew was not into it at all. It was only okay!

Today we went to church and now we are home relaxing and doing some laundry! Fun times! I hope everyone has a great week!!

2 Meat Pizza Casserole and Saturday Fun

We had a great Saturday. Nick and I managed to get the whole house clean and all the sheets, towels, and clothes washed. Work starts back tomorrow, so I want to make sure everything is caught up.

We stayed true to our menu list and made 3 2 Meat Pizza Casserole and Olive Garden salad dressing. The casserole was YUMMY!!! It was fairly quick and easy to make. I wouldn’t make it during the week,but it was great for a weekend meal. The salad dressing did not taste anything like Olive Garden, but it was still very good.

We ended up with a ton of leftover. We are having some for during the week and then we are going to freeze the rest.

Mr. Picky even ate some and loved it!

We spent the remainder and cooler part of the day outside. I did a mini photo shoot of my sweet boy and a few critters along the way!

We had a great church service today followed by lunch at my parents. Andrew fell asleep on the way home. I am going to finish a few last minute school things and then it may be nap time for me also!

Pinnable Menu and Cake Batter Rice Krispy Treats

I am still loving me some Pinterest! I have been pinning so many yummy looking recipes and I finally decided to start cooking them. I don’t really enjoy cooking, but if I have a recipe I am good to go!

Nick and I have made weekly menus since we got married. It helps so much when we both get home and are exhausted. The last thing I want to do is think about what we are going to eat. We plan the meals on Saturday or Sunday and then grocery shop. We really try to only buy what we need for those meals plus the essentials (milk and bread). We usually only spend around $75 and we go once a month to buy a lot of meat. So the $75 is without meat and of course we are only feeding 2 people,but we always have tons of leftovers.

Anyway, we decided to develop most of our menu this week from things that I have pinned. I have included the link for reference. I am also going to post the results of the meals during the week.

Menu:

Saturday: 3 Meat Pizza Casserole-without the ham (it just didn’t sound good!) with Salad and Olive Garden dressing! YUM!

Sunday: Chicken Stir Fry, Rice, and Egg Rolls- this is not from Pinterest. It is just a normal meal we cook often.

Monday: (1st day of school! I know I will be exhausted!) Leftovers of 3 Meat Pizza Casserole

Tuesday: Smoked Pork Chops (heated in the oven), canned or frozen veggie, and Loaded Potato Casserole

Wednesday: Crockpot BBQ Chicken, with veggie, and leftover Loaded Potato Casserole

Thursday: Probably leftovers of pork chops or whatever we had a lot of…This is always the day we are too tired and usually end up going to get something eat. We will see…

Friday: We always eat out or have Friday night with friends!

Cake Batter Rice Krispy Treats!!

We got home from the grocery store had lunch and put Andrew down for a nap. Then I decided to go ahead and make these so we could have a little treat throughout the week. I also tried this dessert because I think it would be great for a classroom treat! So here is how it went! The whole cooking process only took about 15 mins. My kind of cooking! It is basically cooking Rice Krispy treats but add yellow cake mix and sprinkles.

Ingredients

You only need a little cake mix, so I save the rest.

Melt Butter…

Add marshmallows….

Sprinkle in cake mix…

Take off the heat! and add sprinkles…

Press into dish and let cool for 30 mins. I forgot to put some sprinkles on top, but I think it has enough!

I was left with this disaster which is now soaking in the sink!

I haven’t tasted it yet, but I am sure it is yummy! Come back throughout the week to see how the recipes go!!

Long day

Well it is 6:30 am and I am already ready for work! Andrew decided he needed to wake up at 5:30! He is happily watching Dino Dan (his new BFF) and I am doing this because it is too early to leave. HA! Yesterday was our annual Meet the Teacher and it is always a fun, but very long day. I met 19 out of 23 students and they seem very shy and sweet. I know that will only last for the first 10 mins. on Monday (just the shy part hopefully)! Everything went smoothly and I am ready for my 7th year of teaching! It is so crazy that I have been teaching this long. Well TGIF everyone!!!!

Mac and Cheese and Stinky Feet

Like the combo?

I have a very picky little eater. He eats very little and tends to graze throughout the day. He doesn’t like to try anything new. I can finally claim him as my own because he is finally eating mac and cheese!!

I LOVE the middle picture! That is his personality in a picture!

So on to the stinky feet. I need some advice on Andrew’s stinky feet. I am serious! They are awful! It doesn’t matter what type of shoe. It doesn’t matter if he wears socks or not. I was thinking maybe powder would help, but I don’t know. Any advice? or am I destined to live with a stinky boy?

I am back to the real world tomorrow! It is going to be a LONG day! We have a meeting at 8:00 and then we return to our schools. Meet the teacher is later in the day, but parents come all day, so I will not leave till 7:00pm. YUCK!
